Well, that wasn't the reaction she'd expected. Eva watched as he tossed the pop and lit up a smoke instead. She looked confused and cast her eyes downward trying to figure out what she'd said wrong. He certainly wouldn't want to hear that he wasn't attractive, and besides, that would have been untrue. She had no idea what made him react how he had - that she reminded him of a lover he'd left behind.
"Um, yes?" she said, adding an uncertain question mark at the end, and twirling a lock of hair in her fingers. The conversation made her really study him, pick out what made her confirm that he was indeed handsome. In case he asked. Something about his eyes, dark and soulful, maybe just a bit dangerous. And his hair - hair she could run her fingers through. And just that bit of stubble to make him a bit rugged. She felt the heat in her cheeks and looked back to the monitor. It was a much safer place to look right now. Why was he asking her this?!?
