Eva recognized the touch of the other woman's hand on her shoulder, but pain was really all her mind wanted to acknowledge right now. It was almost like it was a roar that was rushing through her ears, so Syd's voice sounded far away, but she nodded to the question before remembering that, that was never a good idea.
