Eva maybe would have given his opinion more consideration if she'd known about his own talent and schooling, but she generally did not think highly of her own talent. Or, well, perhaps that was not entirely accurate. What she drew were little snippets of her world the way she saw it, and she wasn't sure she was ready to share that with anyone else.
"Thank you," she said softly. It was kind of him to say so. "I don't like to show them to other people," she explained after a moment. As if that were a cue, she tucked the last pages away and closed her book. Again, she looked up and opened her mouth like she was going to say something, but then she closed it and picked at her gloves, though she did shift her body so he could sit on the bench, too. She had kind of been using the whole thing when she was drawing.
