“Keep extra eyes out if you do.” She’d known Indy long enough to not doubt the girl would do something that extreme. Actually, in comparison to things they’d both done over the past year, slashing tires was a tame pastime. “Don’t wanna get caught on Vine.” Indy wouldn’t get caught, though. Maddie was about 85% certain of that. All the same, that was one of the unfortunate downsides to being internet famous. They had their own form of pesky paparazzi.
Maddie leaned back against the couch cushion and watched with amusement while Indy undid what she’d just done. The choice didn’t surprise her. Indy had become a lot more outdoorsy since they’d gotten back. Or maybe that had always been the case. Who knew. She wasn’t going to ask.
“Dunno,” she answered as she got up. “You’re the one more likely to know Cali drinking laws. Could always pour the beers into soda cans or water bottles and hide them.” Either way, the beers were coming with them, and this part of the discussion was definitely getting edited out of the vlog later. She was already tired of all the comments saying she was an alcoholic-on-the-verge.
She shrugged out of her hoodie - the apartment was always kept cooler than outside, thankfully - and stepped into her own pair of flip-flops. Grinning at the last thing Indy tacked on, Maddie said, “Someone’s determined to film that drunk challenge tonight, aren’t they?”
Maddie grabbed her keys from the bowl near the door, then backtracked to the table when she realized she nearly forgot her phone.
