Hearing her girlfriend laugh so openly never failed to make Cassidy impossibly happy. Right now though, well she was attempting to school her features into shocked doubt, intent on teasing the other woman and continuing their playful exchange as long as possible. "You're doubting my skills? I'm hurt by that, Carly. And offended! I'll have you know I could easily lift you both, no problem." Probably not true, actually, but where was the fun in that.
"Probably not great," she admitted, though not nearly as upset about it as she would have thought she'd be. Just being back in New York would be good enough _ especially if Carly was with her. "The same neighborhood is slightly more possible though. I might even dream about one of the brownstones opening up."
"It was magical, I swear. The woman who owns it is a sorceress with pastry." Gun shots here vs gun shots in the city were different enough that the comparison didn't seem weird in Cass' mind. Different situation, different wants. "Probably a completely skeezy hole in the wall with one room, in a neighborhood so awful that I won't want to let you out of my sight for two seconds." Her tone was probably too chipper for the topic. "It'll probably be awful, but your first New York apartment should be."
Chaos and destruction - about what she had expected to find really. Seemed that was how it always worked out. Opportunistic people would always sweep in to take advantage when things got rough. If it hadn't been so typical she might have been surprised, instead she just shook the hair off her face and continued pushing the wheelbarrow through the open door.
"Doesn't seem like it's been less than a week," she agreed. "Maybe we should be glad it survived as long as it did. I don't want to think about how rough things would have been if we'd've lost it three months into things." There was broken glass all over the closest row of plants, but otherwise the couple plants seemed like they were in alright shape - at least to her. Messing with the plants wasn't her job, but she searched around to find a discarded glove on the ground and used it to start sweeping glass out of the way. "Do you want to dig up everything we can fit right now, or just what we want to take?"
