Well, the guy didn’t sound like he was going to gun her down and dismember her. Either that or he was a really good liar. Dovie was banking on the former, because the latter likely wouldn’t end well for her. “So what were your plans in coming here?” She hollered back, still keeping the door between them.
Even if she didn’t get ‘serial murderer’ vibes off of him, keeping the door between them for a little while longer meant she could continue to suss him out, determine if he was a danger or not. Just because she was wild didn’t mean she was reckless...or at least she tried not to be all the time.
“Yeah, I would say that makes us friends,” she answered, humor in her tone. “I’m not really looking to need medical attention either, so if you’re not going to shoot me and I’m not going to shoot you, I think it’s okay if I let you inside.” Dovie inched open the door and peered out, her gaze fixing on Leo when she spotted him. “And you don’t look like a threat, even better.” Or at least not nearly as threatening as other men she had come across while on the island, men like Renata’s cousin - that man just screamed ‘threat’. Were as this guy looked friendlier, like he was probably someone you’d have a hell of a good time with.
