"Would you leave if I said yes?" Aside from a slight pant from having been pushing herself for awhile now, the question was posed without the attitude to match it. It might have been preferable to have the space all to herself until she was done, but there was plenty of it that she could deal with sharing the room. Especially since it had clearly been posed as a question without actually being one - sort of like when people asked how you were but didn't really want to know.
Never did understand that. Why ask something when you didn't actually care. Wouldn't it have saved everyone the time to just not ask?
