WHO: Indigo, Maddie, and Renata
WHERE: Haven, the alley behind Mason's pawn shop.
WHEN: June 6th, morning.
WHAT: A sneaky supply run turns into an exciting reunion!
Morning was just another tick on a long list of things she had only learned to deal with out of necessity. It was tempting to sleep until afternoon still, but impractical - especially now that it was getting hotter and hotter with each passing day. Afternoon would be a terrible time to wake-up and start your day, you'd probably melt right on the spot. Making the short trek into the city today was a dual mission in Indy's mind. There was always a need to find more supplies for their traps and the various bombs she was attempting to make, to fortify and do what they could to keep their space as safe as possible. But every venture into the city was a waste if it wasn't used to scout and try to come up with a plan for getting their vengeance. Though Maddie's trip to the marina had yielded an interesting idea, it was one that required just the right plan to actually be effective. The hardware store was pretty picked over, but the weird hobby store wasn't quite bare boned yet. Which was where she was headed, dragging Maddie along with her. The alley behind the building was blocked off pretty well, making this stretch behind the line of shops the least zombie infested area they'd wandered so far. At least they hadn't attempted to go downtown, it was easier to navigate around the edges of town. Closer to the harbor too. "Should we check any of these other stores?" There probably wasn't much of anything useful, but who knew. They were just walking past them anyway, so it almost seemed silly not to poke their heads in just to be sure. The only one she really cared about though was the crafty store, her destination, so if Mads really didn't want to she wouldn't push. Seemed a fair trade off for shaking her awake earlier than was probably necessary. Even though she spoke in a hush, her voice carried a little in the empty alley. Probably not enough to be a big deal, but enough that she noticed it. |
