It didn't seem possible to feel restless while in the middle of surviving a zombie outbreak, yet that was exactly how Cassidy was feeling. She adored her nieces and siblings completely, didn't regret the choice to leave the resort behind so they only had to worry about themselves, but there were moments where she felt guilty about it and useless all the same. Sleeping in had never been one of her vices, a trait that only seemed to be getting worse the longer they were there. It was nice to sit out on the walkway though, listening to the wildlife waking up for the day. You just didn't get that in the city. Closest she ever got was listening to her neighbor's yappy dog pitch a fit about wanting breakfast. This morning was no exception, even before the sun had risen she had slipped out of the hut and found her favorite spot to sit. Still and quiet long enough that the wary birds in the tree closest to her had forgotten she was there and continued with their morning rituals. As beautiful as the creatures were, they only held her interest for a short period before she was more lost in her thoughts than anything. Between the singing birds and her inner monologue, Cassidy didn't hear any of the others when they started moving around. Didn't notice anyone else coming out onto the strange deck-esque area, either. |
