WHO: Nate, Travis, Wyatt.
WHERE: Amusement Park, at the merry-go-round.
WHEN: June 4th, 2015 - Early Evening.
WHAT: Epic Broventure! Nate, Wyatt and Travis find themselves hanging out and screwing off at the amusement park - namely the merry-go-round.
The place was creepy in that sort of abandoned place creep factor. Everything was beginning to show the lack of maintenance at the park and carry that dystopian look that so many movies seemed to portray to get the end of the world feeling across. Nate didn’t think this was the end of the world, because as near as they could tell the rest of the world kept spinning on as normal while they were all trapped on this island like caged animals. Still, the creep factor was unavoidable - yet this place was still the chosen hang out when it had been determined that he, Travis and Wyatt just needed to get the hell out of dodge (the resort) for awhile. Beers had been pilfered from the kitchen and they had made the trek out to the amusement park, beelining for the merry-go-round for some unknown reason. The sight alone likely would have made a person laugh. Three grown men hanging out on a children’s ride, drinking beer and shooting the breeze. Nate had been nursing the same beer for awhile now, watching himself and well aware that Wyatt and likely Travis, would both be watching him as well. His issues weren’t a secret from these guys, though neither one ever came right out and confronted him on them - not yet anyway. Lydia seemed to be the only person on the island who had no qualms with going toe-to-toe with him about it. Nate respected her for that and made a mental note to check in with her some time. Not today. But sometime soon. “Either one of you know how to get this sucker going?” Nate asked while he leaned against one of the colorful horses. “I mean I’ve heard that people have gotten other things running, so do you think this runs?” Maybe it was the beer talking, or maybe it was just the fact that for a few hours he had no concerns, but the idea of hot wiring the merry-go-round to work was more amusing than it probably should have been. Probably also unneeded. The rest of the island still had power, so this place probably did as well. |
