The last two months had been hectic around the hotel, between floods and quarantine, which was the only reason he had to explain why he hadn't really had the opportunity to connect with Renata like he wanted to. The downside of her no longer living at the resort - though he didn't begrudge her the choice to move in with her cousin - it made spending time together a bit harder. His reluctance to spend much time at all in the city didn't really help matters, he really only ever made the trip if one of his other friends wanted to go out that way and needed the company. But as much as he adored Ren, her cousin was not someone he wanted to end up spending any time alone with and that didn't exactly encourage him to make the trip since there was no way to be sure she'd actually be around when he showed up. With things slowing down and returning to their new normal, his desire to tell his friend about everything that had happened and simply reconnect with her was growing beyond his reluctance to visit the city. Somehow he doubted that it would be difficult to convince Dovie to join him for a second visit out to see their friend. Actually, that was a lie - if anything it would probably be difficult to convince her they shouldn't simply dart out on an adventure the moment he brought it up. With that thought in mind, Christien exited the hotel to head back out toward the greenhouse. He'd been helping with a project before lunch and wanted to get back to it now. At least that had been his plan until previous thoughts of journeying into the city became a moot point when a very memorable head of hair appeared in his line of vision. It was hardly the only facet of the woman that stood out, but it was easily one of the most obvious. It wasn't fair to make her do all the traveling between them, but he was hardly planning to complain about a chance to catch up without having to head into Haven himself. Christien smiled slightly, changing course to head toward her instead. "Bonjour, ami." |
