It wasn't hard to figure out why she didn't sound entirely thrilled by the agreement, which did nothing to lessen Logan's amusement. She didn't particularly like when someone told her she was wrong either, but at least she got the feeling it wouldn't be something she felt like she had to tell the girl very often.
"It's a good trait to have. Gets you a hell of a lot further then being a pushover will." Certainly was more worthy of praise and respect in her opinion too, but maybe that was obvious enough.
"Might have a little bit," she said with a chuckle. "My dad's a cop, a damn good one, and has been for forever. Has the total hero complex thing going on." It was weird hearing her own thoughts (more or less) parroted back at her by the girl. "Heroes come in all shapes and sizes," she offered instead though. Glad to change gears slightly to answer her question. "My baby sister, almost as bad as our dad when it comes to helping people." Probably would have been a better cop then her in all honesty, but that wasn't a thought worth dwelling on.
"We did," Logan agreed. "I've heard about people surviving a lot longer though. Few years back there was a story about three guys who'd survived for nine months." Maybe that would be comforting, maybe it wouldn't, she really wasn't sure.
"Probably is." Logan shrugged, not particularly bothered by an eleven-year-old letting her desires be more important than a trauma she couldn't possibly understand. Frankly she was glad to let the girl be annoyed, it was better then being scared or upset about what'd happened.
Since that was pretty much exactly her opinion on the matter, Logan just nodded. "Pretty much, but it doesn't look like we've got any choice but to wait them out." They'd tried leaving and, well, that had gone well. As harsh as Logan was accused of being sometimes, there was no way she intended to dash Louisa's hope that the rest of her family was fine and surviving somewhere else. It was entirely possibly they'd set up base in Haven and hadn't been able to return. The city was funny like that, especially with strangers. "Well now you've got at least one more set of eyes looking for them. If you've got pictures in your stuff somewhere, that'd be even better then a description." Didn't hurt to look, maybe they'd get lucky and find them alive.
Someone deserved a bit of happy ending.
Logan could just nod, because even as an adult people tried to tell her what she should be feeling about situations. Seemed kinda mean spirited to dash the hope it was just because she was young. "You do and I'm gonna ban you from coming out here while I'm working." There was a hint of amusement in her tone, but her expression was totally serious. "Maybe even when I'm not, then you're gonna be stuck between the hotel and the greenhouse again."
