News that the Basso's had stolen a boat hadn't taken long to travel, not that Logan minded. It hadn't been her plan to keep the others in the dark about it, everyone deserved to know their enemy had been craftier then them. Though she was quick to remind anyone who brought it up that it was likely, and she greatly hoped it had been the outcome, that the boat had sunk before it made it to the main land. After all, it had just been a small boat that was never meant to float that deep into the ocean. The guys down at the marina had only intended to use it for the river running across the island, maybe around the coast line, not a 300 or so mile journey into the ocean. Even though it seemed impossible to think they'd actually managed to make it to their destination, there was this niggling possibility that they had and were now living it up somewhere zombie free. Which is how she found herself floating in the middle of the ocean now, where she'd been for the last three days. Because as soon as it had been mentioned as a possibility of a group of survivors making the same trek, she hadn't hesitated to volunteer. If they were going to make a break for it, well honestly she didn't trust anyone else enough to think they wouldn't abandon the rest of them (her) if she wasn't involved in the trip. And yet, even all the way out here, she was having the same circling thoughts that kept her from sleeping. That was a real downside of being so close to so many other people with no where to go, she couldn't really hide that she barley slept. Or that being so close to so many people for so long was making her cranky. "Could you shut up," she snapped toward the back of the boat not for the first time. Not even for the first time today. How the two chuckle heads in the back had gotten involved in this trip she would never understand, but she was sorely tempted to toss them both into the ocean and keep going. Her hands even twitched with the desire, though she grit her teeth and looked forward instead. At least the two guys sitting toward the front with her had worked security with her before, she knew they could pull their weight. |
