Was that a serious question? "Financial stability. Any number of MC Hammers or Vanilla Ice's could tell you that music isn't secure." She didn't like to brag, no, but she would probably never need for money for her whole life. She was brave. Or, at the very least, she wanted to be brave. But every time she tried to step outside of the box she was placed in, her enthusiasm was squashed, and that made it so difficult to keep trying. She wished she could make him understand. Disappointment spread across her face, and she nodded. "I wish I could explain it better." But there was no way to do it without painting herself as a victim, when she wasn't.
She waved her hand dismissively and said "meh," shaking her head no. "People who don't appreciate the classics are stuffy and boring." She shrugged her shoulders. "You're speaking to someone who can quote Aladdin, Mulan and the Little Mermaid from front to back, so..." Another wink. It was totally okay.
"It's dangerous, but risk-reward, right?" she said, in stark contrast to the 'careful, careful' tone she'd taken earlier. "Maybe people need to remind them that sticking to a small area is a quick and easy way to exhaust your supplies." And since they were there for the foreseeable future, it was a legitimate concern. "Right, of course," she nodded her head. "Only if it's deserted."
She nodded her head. "You know, when I was a teenager, I used to want to do that?" she asked, while she swept the area around them. "The whole hobo thing, I mean. Just make a bag out of a stick and a sheet and run away." It was another way that she was a chicken. "Kind of an interesting time to try out that particular dream, but it is what it is, right?" she asked.
Humming thoughtfully, she peeked at the window. "The window's big. We could get out that if we needed to. And if desperation hit, we could always use the towel hanger as a weapon." Most of the towel hangers were kind of flimsily connected in places like this anyway. So it was definitely possible. "How'm I doing, coach?" she asked, with a wry smirk at him.
