"Now you're just being nasty. I've never owned a bottle of Axe anything." He had borrowed roommates before, but he wasn't going to own up to that. "I've got proper hair gel and cologne, medicine cabinet's well stocked." Not that he'd bothered much nowadays, but it was all still there from before. Most days you could only dream about grabbing a quick shower; they'd gotten creative to keep everyone from smelling too funky, which was his only saving grace. "Not sure if that's meant to be a plus or a negative, mate. You saying I smell better or worse then Axe?"
If anything he just smirked harder at her. A girl who could get lippy, but still look cute was an ace combination. "You had me at pleated skirts." He quirked one eyebrow, but could only hold the expression for a second before grinning. "Could try the boys section, Batman's probably better the Pony's, yeah?" Yeah, she had a point there. Probably one of the more honest things he'd heard lately, actually. No need to focus on the doom and gloom now though. "Yeah, you've got a point there. Much better to get chewed by a dino." His gaze skirted the room. "Easier to get around the stiffs though, Raptors've got the speed to chase if you manage to get around them."
"Descriptive, mate. Makes for a better story later." No doubt he'd still work the fact into the retelling sure to come. "Sounds like a better deal then you'd get most places right now. Nobody 'round here is making too much of an effort to keep the situation civil. Anybody with kids is mostly just keeping them tucked away as best as possible." He didn't think there were too many of them around though, honestly. He knew at least one family that had taken off, probably to the resort, rather then try and survive in the city.
"Eh, people are too touchy nowadays. Not so good at making the best of a bad situation." Returning her grin with a slight smirk. "Me, I've always been adaptable. Ride the wave or you eat board, yeah. Never much liked when my Da would say that to us before, guess I get it now." And maybe he sort of missed hearing it lately, it'd been awhile since he'd been back to see his parents. "Look before you leap type, then? So long as you still leap sometimes, guess that's not so bad."
"Can't swear they might not have snatched someone, folk are too spread out to keep track of everybody." Just another thing to worry about. "Stay in the heart of the city, doubt they could get in that far." Well, now that she'd put the thought out there he couldn't help ponder it too. "None of the rest of us decided eating each other was a good plan, makes me think it's probably something they've always done." Leo kind of regretted where his mind had wandered, but it made sense. And as many tourist came and went, no one would miss one or two.
Now that was a brag that would catch your attention. Of course, letting her know he could be potentially impressed by the claim wasn't in the plan. "Thousands, aye. Not quite sure I believe you." Though he could see how it might not be such a stretch; in the short time they'd spoken he could see himself being a fan of whatever social media platform she was boasting about.
To that he just shrugged. Maybe they weren't, wasn't like it really mattered unless they came out to Haven. "He's not exactly lost, yeah? He wanders out, but he always comes back to his shop. Only place I know of to find him." And, well, Leo was pretty sure if any of them were going to out survive a bunch of walking dead it was Mason. "If he's not there now, he'll be back." Cracking a grin, "Bit like the Terminator that way." Maybe it wasn't, but it struck him as funny.
"Your mates not the type who'd trek out to the city?" Not that he wanted a whole gaggle of outsiders to move in either (if only because it'd likely be blamed on him and he didn't need that grief). "Seems like the best reason'd be that it's just better over here. You lot don't have nearly as many buildings to loot through, yeah? No space to spread out. Everybody's just on top of one another, no breathing room." Shrugging, like it didn't really matter either way. "Way more exciting out this way, that's all I'm saying."
"You planning to loot any of the rest of this flat, or just the toilet? Can't be that much worth taking in there."
