"Death-defying, aye?" Now that peaked his interest. He'd always been a bit of a daredevil himself (mostly because it got him the attention he so craved). The childish retort just made him laugh more heartily. "Oh? Multiple continents, yeah. I'd be impressed with that claim, love, but I can say the same." It was an impressive sounding feat, that was for sure. "They actually managed it?" Guns weren't his thing, but it sounded like a challenge worth being awed by.
The look he shot her way was all quirked eyebrows and really? "One of my many hobbies that, yeah. Been told I'm a good listener, you want to give it a crack there's bound to be a couch you could lay on 'round here. Can even keep asking you how everything makes you feel." And even though he wouldn't hesitate on following through with the offer, just for the potential of what he could learn about her, he was just blowing smoke. Any ability he had to read people had strictly come from trial and error, in his effort to chameleon his way into being friends with so many different people.
Abandoning his act with the boring books, he turned back toward her fully and leaned back against the shelf. "Could be," he smirked. "Reckon it'd be a shame if somebody didn't step up to keep your life interesting. Might turn you into one of them boring lot back on your side of the island." Plus he suspected it would either win him points with her cousin (never a bad thing), or it'd irritate the man which was risky but potentially pretty entertaining too. "You thinking about ditching the hotel life to relocate out here?" It made sense if she was, and maybe a little he didn't want to trek to the resort too much.
