WHO: Christien and Hadley
WHEN: June 30, 2014; afternoon
WHERE: The beach huts
WHAT: Hadley would like some answers about why he's disappeared. Also, she misses his face.
Quarantine seemed like ages ago for Hadley, even though it had only been the beginning of the month in actuality. Life on the island both seemed to creep and buzz by, if that was even possible. It didn’t help that Lydia had gone missing sometime between then and now, so there had been search parties for her and the the other woman she’d been with -Bea? that sounded right, but Hadley hadn’t met her-. Apparently Cassidy had also reconnected with an old girlfriend too, so there wasn’t a shortage of things happening within the Stone family. She kept wondering what else could happen before the month was finished.
Granted they only had half a day left.
But noticeably absent had been her friends. She’d seen both Serah and Christien after she’d been released from quarantine; there had been hugs and clinginess and general relief, but since then she’d seen them only a few times. Maybe less than that. Christien in particular seemed to be giving her space. Though why, she didn’t know.
It actually bothered her that she didn’t. Maybe he’d found someone more interesting than her? She’d always thought there was maybe something there between them, but it could have been wishful thinking on her part. It wouldn’t be the first time she’d rolled the thought around in her head. Or maybe he and Serah were just trying to make the best of their Spring Break, and Hadley and her family drama would only sidetrack that, she didn’t know.
Christien was in the beach huts, so maybe it wasn’t even a matter of avoidance and just a case of their paths not crossing, since the Stones were at the hotel. It was always possible that Hadley was letting her imagination get the better of her.
In any case she was tired of unanswered questions and feeling like she was being left alone on purpose, she wanted some answers. Which meant a trek out to the huts. Brandon probably wouldn’t love that she’d walked out there on her own -maybe not Lydia either, given the events of the last month-, but she was determined.
The silly girl part of her brain could also admit that she missed seeing Christien's face.
It took knocking on a few wrong doors before someone could successfully point her towards the right one, but once she was there she didn’t hesitate to knock lightly on the door frame. She paused only a minute before she let herself into the hut. "Hello," she called out as a warning, just in case he was actually there. No one could really tell her whether or not he was in the hut, just which one belonged to him.
