Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Orla and Michael
What: Hanging out, swapping comics
When: Sunday around 6pm
Where: Blackpool, along the Pier.
Rating: Um, not high I expect, not sure
Status: Closed/In progress

Michael worked a few hours at the bar that afternoon so his brother couldn't complain too much that he was slacking. He was actually looking forward to meeting with Orla. She seemed like a pretty cool girl to be into comics as much as she said. Most that he tried to talk to about it just looked at him like he was an overgrown child. They just didn't understand that it was actually a rather adult medium, not to mention the fact that they were essentially insulting his dream career.

He didn't dress fancy, just a comfortable clean pair of jeans and his favorite Ramones shirt. It was fairly warm out, but a cool breeze blew in from the water so he threw on a maroon hoodie and his converse before going downstairs to wait for her. Michael brought his messenger bag with him filled with the latest issue of Batman that he promised to show her along with the new Fables comic he'd found. He looked around out front of the bar and not seeing her, sat down on the bench outside. It was a rather nice evening so far and he kicked back, crossing a leg over his knee and watched the few people still out and about pass by.

Orla didn't want to be late but she was running around her flat looking for something to wear. She a pair of jeans that she slipped herself into and a tank top she particularly liked. She pulled out her green zip up hoodie throwing it on over her small frame and shoved her bare feet into a pair of cute flats. She looked at herself and approved so she picked up her bag and hung it off her shoulder, the bag held the most important reason she was seeing Michael today it held her Batman comics. They were used and well worn, mainly because she never had the money to go and buy the mint comic books, but one day she hoped to. If she did she would cherish her collection and it would be in a place of honour if she could.

Apparating from her flat she landed in Blackpool, she had not been here in ages and she would make a point of getting some Blackpool Rock that wasn't rainbow or mint. She wanted one of the other many flavours that were out there. Orla grinned from ear to ear as she walked towards the bar and she noticed Michael sitting on the bench. She hurried over and plopped into the seat next to him. "Why hello," she said as she crossed on leg over the other and grinned at him. "So where we headed?" She asked curiously at him.

Michael looked up when the girl plopped herself down beside him. He couldn't help but grin back at her. "Hey there!" He felt like it was his lucky day. She liked comics and she was cute. Working in a bar, she likely could hold her liquor too. Sweet.

"Well, I actually don't have anywhere picked out. There's tons of places along the boardwalk. I just figured we'd stop whichever place smelled the best." Admittedly that's how he found most of the places he liked to eat. "Are you in the mood for something in particular? Nothing greasy though since we got the books with us." He looked at her expectantly.

Michael was cute Orla had to admit. She looked him over trying to decide just how cute he was, he had points for him for his excellent taste in comic books. Orla brushed her hair behind her ear and smirked wondering what he was thinking about.

"The place that smells the best sounds good to me, as long as it isn't greasy." Nope she didn't want to ruin her books or his, especially Michael's. "So really anything sounds good as I am not too picky." Orla said casually as she ran her fingers through her hair and moved to stand up. "So Terry is a little hurt you chose breasts over a friend, but I said breasts that likes comic books are hard to come by and how could you resist. Anyway the point is he wants to see your new comic book." Orla laughed sweetly as she looked at him waiting to see where they would head.

Michael stood up with her and then burst out laughing at her little explanation about Terry. "You discussed this with Terry?" He grinned and shook his head. He'd have to definitely have to talk to Terry about this later. "Well," he began, his voice mock serious. "Indeed it's true that breasts that like comic books are hard to find. It's like that elusive gazelle in the savanah." He started laughing not even really knowing where to go with that line of thought other than the lion pounces the gazelle and well, he probably wouldn't mind that either.

"So let's see," he paused a moment and then gestured to his left. "There's a bunch of small places down this way. Do you like Indian?" Michael waited for her to come along, smiling pleasantly at her.

"Yes I definitely did," she said with a chuckle. She found it amusing to see the reaction of Terry but to see the way Michael spoke in that mock serious tone caused her to laugh. "Very good analegy." Orla was very pleased with the way this day had started. Finally Orla took the time to realize she was actually taller than Michael but she really didn't care in any sense it made him cuter.

"Well," she started to say as she placed and arm around his shoulder take an advantage of those three inches. "I like Indian." She grinned at him, "Just lead the way."

Michael tried not to focus on the fact that she was in fact taller than him. A number of girls were. So long as it was just the arm over the shoulder and not some actual verbal reference along the lines of little guy or the other nonsense he'd gotten from a few girls, it would be okay. He slipped his arm around her waist as they walked along. "Well this place has some of the best samosas I've had and really good chicken tandoori bites."

"So tell me. What other books do you get into besides Frank Miller and Batman?" It was really such a rare treat for Michael to find a girl as cute as Orla that actually liked these things. He was quite excited.

Orla nodded her head listening to what he was saying they had and it all sounded delicious. She did sort of focus on the fact his arm was around her waist and really hoped he didn't tickle her, but other than that fear she didn't mind it was there. "That sounds delicious to me."

"Well I love X-men, Rouge, NIghtcrawler, Kitty. I love them. Mystique. Man they are good mutants. When I was told I was to go to Hogwarts I was like sweet I am a mutant, but really it wasn't the same thing. Plus I later found out it wasn't so shocking since my dad was a pureblood Russian wizard." Orla shrugged her shoulders as she walked with him. "I do like Watchmen as well. I also like those silly morbid comics like Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and Lenore. Of course I like Superman, and I am okay with Spiderman though he is a bit of a wimp when compared to Batman in my opinion." She hoped she wasn't talking to much, and really that was the first time she had ever thought she might be.

Michael nodded along laughing a little at the idea that she thought she was a mutant. "I like X-Men, but didn't really get as into it as some of the others." He noted that she seemed a half-blood like himself, but didn't comment on it. Except for wartime, that sort of thing never concerned him.

"Batman is just the ultimate badass hands down. He doesn't have any superpowers, didn't need to get bit by a spider, he just uses his brain and his toys." Getting by on the powers of the mind really appealed to Michael's Ravenclaw sensibilities. "I think because I always knew I was magic, being the youngest, the ones with super powers didn't seem all that special to me." He shrugged and looked over at her with a smile. "You'll have to show me some of the silly morbid ones. I've never looked at those."

"I liked it because it had some girls in that weren't Wonderwoman. I don't think the lasso did her any good." Orla shrugged her shoulders as she thought about Wonderwoman and her silly little rope. That particular character never appealed to her. "Really Batman just generally rocked. I can see what you mean though about the magic thing when you have your own 'super power' in the eyes of muggles you kind of like the ones that use their brains and gadgets. Plus who wouldn't like a brooding Bruce Wayne?" Orla laughed a little if she was a comic book character she would definitely like Bruce Wayne.

"Sure, we can get together another time and I can show you." Orla had not brought them as she figured he wouldn't be interested but she honestly wouldn't mind showing off her cute silly morbid ones. She liked them. Squee was another favourite of hers. "What others do you like?"

"Didn't do her any good? It made people tell the truth! Okay, but female comic characters...what about Catwoman? Sure she was a baddie but she was pretty cool." Okay so he'd always had a bit of a crush on Catwoman, but that was a normal boyish reaction, in his opinion, to a hot woman in a black catsuit.

"Hmm, I really like The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It's got a good base in mythology and the story is so good. It's human in a way, how it talks about the choices you make and the changes in the world and how it sort of forces you to adapt and grow. It's probably my favorite after Batman." That was really the sort of thing he liked. How people could take a medium that was considered juvenile like comics and use it to speak about modern life and all it's complexities.

He could smell the food as they approached and smiled, pointing to a little shop with red curtains and a Far East theme painted on the outside. "Oh good, here we are!" Michael let go of her and held the door open so Orla could go inside.

"Yeah but that outfit and all she had was that rope." Orla laughed a little never having thought she would get in this sort of argument with anyone. She looked at him and rolled her eyes. "You just like Catwoman because of the suit, admittedly I did to. I so want to dress up like Catwoman, but I also like Ivy." Orla shrugged her shoulders. "I might get the chance to since I want to open my own bar, and James says he would help. Who knows, Batman Themed bar could be in the works."

"I haven't read that but I wouldn't mind." Orla knew what he was talking about but had never picked it up. Looking ahead she saw the place he was talking about. Walking inside she thought it smelled amazing. "This place smells amazing."

"She also had those reflector cuff things," he reminded her with a smile. Michael made no apologies when she called him out on why he liked Catwoman. He looked at her when she said she'd like to dress up like her or Ivy. Do not picture this girl in a Catwoman costume! Too late and he bit his lip thinking it would be quite an appealing look for her. "A Batman themed bar? Seriously? You shouldn't tease a guy like that," he grinned. "That would be the most amazing place ever."

Michael followed her into the cafe, he smiled. "I know. I love this place." Nodding at the hostess, they went to a small table for two close to the window. Michael held out the chair for her before sitting himself. If there was one thing his mother drilled into him, it was to treat girls with respect. Certain parts of that did manage to stick.

Yeah reflector cuff things, lame!" Orla said as she waved her hand. Orla had been quite serious about dressing up like Catwoman, she would have loved to do it. "Yes a Batman themed bar. James is funding me and I am opening it. Everyone wears costumes, I am torn between Catwoman or Ivy. I think I would pull of the black leather catsuit." Orla shrugged her shoulders as she looked at Michael not even thinking of what he could be thinking about.

"Thank you," she said as she took a seat and smiled up at him. "A gentleman, I like that." Orla placed her bag on the floor carefully and got settled and comfortable in her seat.

Michael coughed slightly when she said she could pull off the catsuit. He really didn't think it would appropriate for him to agree as heartily as he'd like to that indeed she likely could.

He smiled a bit shyly at being called a gentleman. That was one he hadn't heard in quite a while. He stowed his messenger bag on the floor close to the wall so it wouldn't get stepped on and sat down. He took the menu from the hostess and looked back at Orla as the hostess left them. "So when did you decide to have you're own bar? I think it'd be great to do a place up exactly as you'd want to."

Opening the menu she looked it over before looking back at Michael. Orla felt like she was staring so she quickly looked away. She ran her eyes over the words not really reading them. She had not intended to come out and flirt with Michael but what could be the harm right? Would it be so bad to do some harmless flirting? She placed the menu down a little and rubbed the back of her neck before looking back up at Michael. "Well I like being my own boss and just chatting with James it seemed like a good idea. I have thought about it before but now I am more inclined to do it. Of course I need to quit my job but with no income I am sort of screwed on paying for my rent."

She shrugged her shoulders as she looked back at the menu as she bit her lip before her tongue played with her lip ring. Was it a good thing to keep? Orla had been toying about taking it out. She glanced up to Michael. "Would you help with the artwork for the bar?"

Michael didn't really need to look at the menu having been here several times over. He knew what he liked and usually just went with that. Still if he didn't look, he'd end up fidgeting or staring at her. He nodded at her explanation. "Yeah it would be kind of tough for a while. Maybe you could find a place like my brother did and live above it?" It did get a bit noisy sometimes when he forgot to use a few privacy charms, that was really the only disadvantage that he saw.

He looked up at her question, completely surprised. "Really?" He paused only a moment before smiling brightly at her. "Yeah I'd love to help you with that."

"Yeah, if I can find a place I would do that. I think I might be bugging friends for their couches." Orla laughed a little as she finished looking over the menu and finally deciding on a chicken samosa because she wasn't as hungry as she thought she was and knew it would be enough. She closed the menu in time to see him smile at her and she felt like she was melting. That smile was so great she liked a boy with a good smile.

"I am glad you will help, I just can't think of anyone more fitting." Orla nodded her head as she shifted her weight in her seat. She brushed hair from her face that had fallen since she moved and smiled at Michael.

Michael closed his menu just as the waitress came over. He actually felt a little embarrassed at the compliment. He hadn't even shown her his drawings and she was so confident in his ability. It was kind of nice. "Um, thanks. It'd be my pleasure," he smiled shyly.

The waitress asked for their drink order and if they knew what they'd like. "I'll have some iced tea and the potato samosas." The waitress looked at Orla expectantly.

"Well I am happy you will do it." Orla felt like she couldn't keep this silly grin off her face as she looked at him. She was so focused on him that she hadn't realized the waitress had arrived. She blushed as she snapped from staring and look up at her. "Iced tea and a chicken samosa please." She handed over the menu and looked back over to Michael.

"So other than working what do you do for fun?" She asked curiously wanting to get to know more about him. Orla leaned forward to on the table and her hands drumming on the table absentmindedly as she got comfortable.

Michael smiled as he noted the little blush steal across her face. She was really pretty. He wondered briefly if that meant he wasn't the only one possibly interested beyond just a shared love of comics. He ran a hand through his slightly mess hair and settled back in his chair.

"Well, I like to mess around with my guitar a bit, hang out with my mates. I draw obviously," he smiled. "I just started trying to teach my niece a little. She wants very badly to be able to draw Pikachu properly." Michael laughed a bit. He nodded when the waitress came back briefly to drop off their drinks. He squeezed the lemon in his as he asked, "So what about you?"

Orla hoped she wasn't the only one feeling interested than something beyond just a switch of comic books. She really hoped she had a chance to test this theory later. She was enjoying this though she liked just going out and talking, no real purpose to it or drive to get one in bed. Of course there was the reason behind the meeting and she was sure they would get to that eventually.

"I really want to see your drawings, but guitar is awesome. I have wanted to learn how to play." Orla nodded her head as she listened to him speak of the waitress. "Well that is just cute." Orla nodded her head and looked up to the waitress with a smile before she twisted the straw about in the iced tea. She loved iced tea,

"Well I work, I read. I go visit my mum and I speak to my dad. I want to visit but I feel like I get in the way of the life he has. He has a new kid and all." She shrugged her shoulders. "I feel kind of boring, but I do go out to concerts and I love to go dancing." She took a sip of her drink before looking at Michael again. She moved her foot and it accidentally hit Michael's. "Sorry."

"It's a lot of fun. I'm not a pro by any means, but I like sitting around and trying to figure out how to play my favorite songs." He smiled and sipped his drink.

"Ah, dancing." Michael grinned and shook his head. "I only do that if I've had a few. I can keep rhythm, but that's probably the most positive thing I can say about that," he laughed. "What kind of music are you into?" Michael loved muggle music. He could get into a few wizarding bands, but muggle classic rock was his true love.

"You should teach me!" Orla said almost excited at the thought, mainly because it could give a reason for him to get closer with her. She couldn't believe she was thinking of things like that, but she couldn't help it.

Sipping at her drink she nearly had it come out her nose as she laughed at him. "You should come dancing with me, I am sure it will be a completely different experience." Orla nodded her head as she wiped her lips carefully and smirked. "I like The Beatles, Romones, anything really classic Rock I find." She shrugged her shoulders as she leaned on her hand as she rested her elbow on the table. "What do you like?"

Michael grinned and nodded. "Sure, I could do that if you wanted to." He hadn't been professionally taught really, just a few lessons. Mostly he taught himself, but if she wanted he'd try and show her a few things.

"I don't know. I think you'd see my moves and never speak to me again," he teased. Michael's eyes brightened as she named off the bands she liked. He was ready to kiss this girl's feet and take her home. How the hell did he manage to find a girl this cool? "I love classic rock, a bit of punk. Zeppelin's my favorite. Pink Floyd, The Doors, Ramones, Dropkick Murphys. Stuff like that."

"Awesome," she said pleased that he had agreed to it. Even if he had not been professionally taught it wasn't that big of a deal. She saw no reason for the whole purpose behind being taught to be to learn. Orla was really just looking for reasons to see Michael again and so far she was finding ways easily.

"I am sure it would be different, you get all close and just move." Orla nodded her head hoping she could drag him out dancing or at least dance in a private place. Private place might be nice just because she wouldn't mind getting close and perhaps kissing, but what if he didn't want to. Orla had always liked the challenge of seduction but this felt different.

"Oh you are awesome. I am sure you have an amazing music collection." She could not believe she was this lucky to find someone she had so much in common with. Could she take him home because she wanted to.

"You make it sound so easy," he grinned. Michael tried to focus on the two of them sitting at the table and not let his mind wander to the idea of them all close and just moving. That close he could probably decern the exact color of her hair, feel how soft her skin was, kiss her. Damn that was not where his mind needed to be.

Laughing, Michael made as if to fix his lapels. "Well you know I do try to be awesome as much as possible," he smiled and gave a little wink. "I do like collecting music though. I'm a bit old school. I love vinyl. One day I want to have my own record shop." He smiled and played with the strings of his hoodie. "Sort of a 'High Fidelity' kind of place."

"It is easy, don't make me get up and show you cause I will take you with me." Orla said teasing but she was also quite serious. She would drag him to his feet and dance with him right here she wasn't afraid, but she really wouldn't mind actually going to a place to dance with him. "You know what I am taking you dancing it has been decided and I don't care when we go, hell we could even go tonight." Orla loved dancing and it would give her an excuse to get all close to him.

"You should do it, that would be a great place. Would you have staff that tells people they suck when they choose the wrong stuff?" Orla smirked running her fingers threw her hair as she leaned back in the seat one leg crossed over the other and her shoe almost falling off. Orla was curious what his reaction would be if her foot played with the bottom of his pants.

Michael's eyes widened as for a moment he thought she just may get out of her chair and do so. Thankfully she relented and just threatened to take him dancing somewhere. He'd be willing if he had a bit of liquid courage in him. "Well, we'll see what happens. I'm telling you. You'll fear for your feet."

"Of course! There will be no Spice Girls or Vanilla Ice allowed to be sold in my store. Only good music," he laughed. It would be great to open his own place. As much as he liked working at the bar he'd like to have something of his own. "Have specials on whatever albums are on my top ten list that week," he grinned.

The waitress returned then and dropped of their plates and promised to bring refills for their drinks. "Man this smells so good. I didn't realize how hungry I was."

"I doubt I will fear your feet, you might be too focused on other things and stop thinking so hard about the dancing." Orla smirked as she took another sip of her drink that was almost done. A grin crossed her face as he spoke of what his record store would be like. "I like that idea, it sounds like something you should do. You could even have specials on top ten list of your friends or something." Orla shrugged her shoulders as she looked up to the waitress as the food arrived.

Orla felt like she had this stupid grin on her face that just wouldn't disappear. Michael was having a strange affect on her. Normally she could calm her nerves around an attractive boy but as she cool as she appeared she was a tad nervous. "This looks amazing and smells even better."

His eyebrows rose at that comment and he grinned, shaking her head at her smirk. She was really something else and he was liking her more every second. "Mmm, for my best mates birthdays let them choose. That could be fun."

The waitress brought them refills and left again. "I come here probably more than I should," he grinned. "Eventually I will put the cooking skills my mother tried to instill in me to work, but until then it's much better to have something actually edible." He took a small bite and sighed happily.

"It would be nice of you," she nodded her head as she took a bite and was pleased with her choice. "I expect to be able to choose once." She announced in this matter of fact tone like he had no choice in the matter, she gave a smile to show she wasn't exactly quite so serious.

"I like eating out, I am not the best cook but I can make a few things. It is like a few select dishes I can do without burning them. I have definitely tested the smoke alarm." She chuckled a little as she took another bite. "So I was quite serious about dancing so if you wanted to go we could, but I do want to see these comic books of yours."

"I suppose I can mark my calendar for that," he grinned. Michael took a sip of his drink and nodded. "Alright. If you know somewhere we can go, then sure. We could dance." She seemed quite set on it and he was hard pressed to deny her something at the moment.

"Yes, it was a hard lesson that I learned. Turning the heat up indeed does not make things cook faster. It just burns it." Michael smiled. "Oh yeah!" Strange but he'd nearly forgotten the whole point of this little outing. She was so easy to talk with. He wiped his hands on his napkin and reached down into his bag. He pulled out Fables first, figuring if she handled this one properly he wouldn't be so nervous about pulling out his Batman. It was still in the plastic bag with the cardboard backer. "Here. This is the new one I was telling you about. First issue. I really love the art."

"Splendid! Though I don't know many places around here." Orla shrugged her shoulders and would deal with the location when the time came for it. She took another bite of her samosa and tried not to laugh at Michael's comment because she herself had done that many times. "I learnt that lesson too." She sighed as she thought of the last meal she had burnt.

Michael pulled out the first one and grinned rather excited. Looked at her hands and wiped them on them napkin but that was just not doing it for her. She pulled out her wet napkins to get the stuff off her fingers and then used a napkin to dry them. "No only would you kill me I think so would Terry if I ruined anything." Orla nodded her head as she took the book carefully in her hands and opened it careful not to hurt the binding or put it down on the table. She looked at the artwork and smiled. "The art is great. I wish I could draw half as good."

Michael had no problem going wherever she wanted. He was sure they'd figure something out. Strangely he was looking forward to the opportunity to get close to her, despite his fear of looking like a complete moron on the dancefloor.

He laughed. "Terry is probably the only friend I have that's as serious about this sort of thing as I am. As happy as he normally is, I think he would commit murder over something like that." Michael smiled and shook his head. Tilting his head, he looked along with her as best he could from across the table. "I love the way they did the coloring. That watercolor feel, a bit washed out. Reminds me of the storybooks my mum would pull out for us. It's fantastic for this." His passion for this was obvious in his voice. "I'm not so great with watercolors. I get a bit too washed because I'm so focused on trying to get the softness just right. Charcoals are my favorite."

Orla laughed and nodded her head. "Totally he would commit murder, he seemed very stunned you let me see anything first." Orla smirked almost smugly as she flipped through the book carefully. She was in awe of this whole book, just the watercolour was amazing. She could never do this. Orla was not as focused on the book had she been if Michael wasn't here, he was still in the back of her mind. Sure she loved that she was looking at this but she kept thinking about Michael and wanting a reason to get closer to him.

"I am in awe, I wish I could do anything like this. Thank you for showing me." Orla said with a wide grin as she continued to flip through the pages. She got to the last page and closed it handing it back to him. "How did you come across it?"

Michael looked up from the book to answer her and paused a moment, unconsciously licking his lips. She had this amazing full mouth. In his mind already he was sketching it out. When she smiled it was friendly, welcoming and sensual at the same time.It was like her entire personality resided in that smile. He blinked realizing he was staring at her, looked away a bit embarrassed. "You're welcome."

He took the moment to take the comic and place it back in his bag. "Um, well sometimes I just like to browse the new things that come in. I won't necessarily know the story right off, but if the art really draws me I'll check it out anyway."

Orla hadn't noticed him staring and even if she had she would have been flattered. Orla had been going back and forth between staring at Michael anyway so perhaps it was just payback. Orla was not really focused on what he was saying as he put the book in his bag because she was back staring at him. "Yeah sometimes you find the best things doing that." Orla was staring at his lips wishing she could just kiss them. Just as she was thinking about it she got a great idea.

"Here let me move over we can look at stuff together, this way you can hold Batman and I don't have to touch it. Keep Terry happy you know." Orla laughed at her pathetic attempt at a reason for her move other than the real one. Orla scooted the chair around to sit closer to him, next to him rather than across from him. She settled in her new spot but it wasn't long before she felt the need to act upon her real reason for sitting so close.

Her hand touched his leg as she leaned forward and kissed him. She had been dying to do that since they got here.

Michael didn't think anything of what she said. Sure her reasoning would probably be construed as completely flimsy to the outside observer, but he was too fascinated and slightly flustered by her to question it.

He took a quick sip of his drink and just pulled out the new Batman comic when he felt her hand on his leg. Michael looked over at her and before he knew it she kissed him. He was a little surprised by it and didn't respond at first. Feeling like a complete moron he decided to fix that and smiling a moment, leaned in and kissed her again. Her lips felt even better than he'd imagined when he was staring at them only moments ago.

When he pulled back, he couldn't stop his grin, though he coughed slightly and picked up the book. "So, um, this is the new one I just got..."

Orla was a tad disappointed that he hadn't returned the kiss but she supposed she might have shocked him. She was starting to worry but that worry didn't last long when she felt his lips touch her own this time on his accord. Orla returned the kiss enjoying the feeling of his lips. Yup kissing Michael was nice she made a mental note to do that again.

Orla turned her focus back to the book in his hand but her hand had not moved from his thigh. She leaned in sort of close, perhaps closer than she needed too. She looked at it and had this sort of stunned look on her face. "Oh my god it is amazing." She said and looked at him grinning at him. Seeing him smile made his lips even more appealing. Orla looked back at the comic book in awe. "I am a little jealous you have this."

Michael started flipping slowly and carefully through the pages. He snuck a peak at her out of the corner of his eye, wondering if she was just humoring him. The stunned look on her face told him so much. He couldn't believe he'd found someone so great that actually liked this sort of thing. Most girls told him it was boring and juvenile. "Well you should take comfort that you're the first person I showed," he said returning her grin.

He leaned away a moment to take a sip of his drink. Michael didn't want the condensation of the glass to drip on the comic. He was extremely careful and particular about how they were handled. "I really love the way they handle Batman in this series. It's so gritty and real. Not so cartoony. Those are good in their own right, don't get me wrong, but this really just involves me so much more." He hoped she didn't think he was talking too much.
