BAKING!
Who: Terry Boot and Susan Bones
When: Friday night
Where: Susan's Flat
What: Baking!
Rating: PG-13 in case of cursing
Status: In Progress

Being depressed was not fun. At all. Terry knew from experience since it had been pretty close to the mood he had endured since James' leaving. And he wouldn't be back for several days. Well that just left him with his other friends and they were driving him mad, telling him he needed to go out and go find a girlfriend and blah blah blah. Work hadn't been much better, but he wasn't going to be depressed about it. No, he'd focus on cheering Susan up.

Carrying a bottle of champagne in hand, Terry knocked on Susan's door, happily smiling all the way. "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusaaaaaaaaaaaan! Open up, it's me and I have a preeeeeeesent!" Bouncing from foot to foot, Terry tried not to bang on the door again. Already he was probably pissing off the others nearby. "Suuuusan, it's hot and people are giving me funny looks." Though that was only because he was yelling and pounding on the door.

Susan had just finished dragging her brush through her wet hair when there was a knock on the door followed by a yelling. As soon as she had understood the words she laughed, pleased that Terry already was putting her into a better mood and he was only on the other side of the door. "Coming!" She called and ran from the bathroom to the door. Opening the door she grinned from ear to ear, "A present you say?" Susan raised an eyebrow at him as she opened the door wider for him to enter. Already Terry was brightening her mood, but when someone made the presences known in such a way how could you not be amused.

"So are you ready for some baking goodness? I fully expect to have to make more than one batch of frosting as I might just eat the first." Susan grinned as she spoke hoping Terry would help in the eating part.

"You've just said the magical words. Frosting and eat." Terry winked playfully and held out the bottle of champagne. Already he was starting to ramble and didn't think he could stop if he wanted to. Which he definitely didn't since it seemed to be having a nice effect on Susan. "It's not really anything fancy, but it gets the job done. They were out of wine and I wasn't sure if you liked beer."

Making his way into Susan's flat, he looked around in amazement. "So this is where you live? Niiiice! Seems pretty big to have all for your lonesome. so show me where the baking stuff is and let's get started. However, I must warn you I may eat more than we actually bake."

"They are amazing words when paired together," Susan said with excitement as she took the bottle of champagne from his hands and read the label. "This is great, thank you!" Susan was rather excited and eager to open the bottle but the potential for frosting was even better. "Champagne and frosting, what more do you need in life?" That warm grin not having left her face as she headed almost skipping into the kitchen after she closed the door behind him.

"Yup, this is the place." Susan smirked as she placed the bottle on the counter. "Well I don't live alone, Zacharias does as well, but it was big when he didn't." Susan was talking into the cupboard as she on toes reaching the top shelf for the 'good' glasses, the champagne flutes didn't come out all that often. Susan made a mental note to wash them first. "Eating more than we bake is the only way to bake when you are baking for no particular reason than to just back," she peaked from behind the cupboard door to send him a playful wink.

She lived with Zach? How could anybody tolerate him? A bunch of questions about how she could let him drink himself into oblivion was on the tip of his tongue as he looked around, eying his surroundings. A movement in the kitchen caught his attention and made him frown.

"Hey! Be careful!" Terry kicked off his shoes before making his way to the kitchen, afraid Susan was going to fall the way she was leaning to get some silly glasses. Oh Champagne flutes. Well those were nice. "Faaancy." Terry chuckled, moving to help Susan down once she had the glasses.

"So you've got the frosting done, but what about the dough? I hope you didn't do too much without me."

She was shocked to hear his voice saying those words but it was nice to know he worried. Susan waved her head, "I will be fine." She looked back over at him to see him closer, "Yes why not use them when you have the bubbly for it." Nodding her head before looking very triumphant when she finally got the stem in her hand bringing down two glasses. "Success!" She moved towards the sink to give them a rinse, the entire time listening to Terry and her eyes on him only bouncing back to glasses ever so often.

"Well no dough, just frosting and I of course intend to make more frosting." Drying off the glasses she eyed the bottle. "Want to open it? Then we can get started on the important part eating frosting, and some baking."

"Ooooor we can just make a lot of frosting and eat it until we hit a sugar rush, act like idiots, and eventually pass out on the floor with coloured frosting around our mouths. I'm sure your roomie would love that." Actually, Terry was tempted to make a mess just to see what the guy would have to say afterwards. Making him angry seemed like a fun thing to do. The only problem with that was Susan would be forced to clean up the mess.

Taking the champagne, Terry tried to pop the cork off and it ended up shooting across the room. "SHITE! Sorry." He bit his bottom lip, trying not to laugh. Once he took the glasses in hand he tilted the bottle, pouring a glass and handing it to Susan before pouring his own.

Susan drummed her chin like she was thinking hard, "You know I think you might be on to something. Screw the cake, just eat the frosting." Susan liked this idea, and would probably end up extremely hyper and start a frosting fight or something. Making a mess did sound like a way to blow of steam from the day, but she would just have to clean it up after she was done. Oh well, cleaning wasn't so bad plus there was a lovely little thing called magic if she wanted to use it.

All thoughts were disturbed as a cork shot across the room. "Holy shit, you are deadly with that thing." Chuckling she reached out for the glass as he handed it to her, "Knowing me I would have got you in the forehead if I had opened it." Susan was quite serious about that, it would have been just her luck. "Cheers," she held up with glass, "thanks for coming over and cheering me up."

"Actually, I think I must have gotten pretty damn lucky. Normally I bean one of the blokes in their heads with these type of things." Terry grinned, looking properly embarrassed about the whole thing. Actually, James had been out for almost two days. Or so he claimed.

"Let's get to that frosting. Did you dye any of it? If so I want the blue frosting. House pride." He chuckled and took a sip, making his way into the kitchen. They would definitely need to make some more frosting. Actually his mind was already formulating a mini-war game they could play once they had consumed enough sugar. "Suse... Think I may love you for this." He stared at the frosting and playfully flicked some, from the spoon, at her hair.

Susan couldn't help but laugh because she could picture Terry hitting one of the guys with the cork. Taking a sip she moved towards the frosting and saw the small colourful bowls of frosting she had prepared. "Well blue is yours, and yellow is mine. There is also pink and green." She picked up one of the spoons and took a spoon full of the yellow when she felt some frosting hit her hair. "Hey we are supposed to be eating that," she joked as she flicked some of her own frosting at Terry. If it was a war he wanted it would be a war he would get.

What remained on the spoon she licked off and did a little dance as she did so. Taking another spoonful she knew it wouldn't take long before she was hyper. Susan kept her eye on Terry wondering if he would fling more frosting her way, and if he did she would be ready to retaliate.

Soon enough a full scale war was going to erupt between the two of them. Already Terry had a bit of icing in his hair and he was giggling almost like a girl. He had a feeling Susan wouldn't tease him about it like the others did though, so he instead focused on the fight at hand. After carefully licking his spoon clean he scooped up another bit of frosting and shot it at Susan.

"I get dibs on the green also!" He laughed, grabbing the blue bowl in his arm so he had easy access to the ammunition. Terry stuck the spoon in the bowl so he could finish his glass of champagne and proceeded to eat some of his own pseudo-bullets. Well at least they'd be having a fun night. The frosting would be a pain to get out of his hair.

No matter what the clean up would be later she was sure it would be worth it just to have a bit of fun. Susan took more of her champagne almost draining the glass. Picking up the bowl of frosting ready to fire when she needed too. Susan was already enjoying herself and was sure once a full scale war started it would get even better. When more frosting when flying her direction she had her own spoon trapped in her mouth and couldn't fight back. Now with frosting in her hair and on her cheek she knew she would be a mess and have to shower again.

"So I get stuck with pink," she mock pouted but it wouldn't last as she flung some frosting his direction hoping for a direct hit to the nose. Susan doubted she had good aim and flinging frosting was not something you really aimed anyway. Susan was just happy to forget about her day so far it appeared she already was. Licking her spoon clean she went in for another spoonful and cleaned off her spoon once more.

Readying herself for another attack she plunged the spoon back into the yellow frosting. "If we keep to these colours it is like a battle of the houses," she wiggled her eyebrows before laughing like she always did when she wiggled her own eyebrows. "What would Zacharias say if she saw blue and yellow frosting everywhere, even on our cat."

"I can imagine what he'll say. Probably grumble about needing a drink. You really should do something about his drinking problem." Terry smiled at Susan, wiping frosting out of his eye. He quickly poured himself another glass of champagne, refilling hers as well, before turning his attention back to the frosting.

"Either way, oh well. All that matters is we had fun. And are having fun. Like this." Terry laughed as he catapulted a big blob of blue in Susan's direction. He was definitely going to have a hard time getting frosting out of his hair and clothes. Especially his hair.

Susan looked at the ground as Terry said that, "Yeah I know. You try telling him though." Susan picked up glass and took a sip. Susan was eyeing the frosting knowing full well that it would be flying her direction sometime soon. She grinned, "Who wouldn't have fun doing this." She was taking another spoonful of frosting and licked the spoon clean.

"Oh that was a big one," she said as she ran her finger to collect most of the frosting off her shirt and sucked it off her finger. Laughing Susan took a big spoonful of frosting and flipped the spoon sending it flying. She stuck her tongue out him as she picked up her glass and took as sip as she passed by to head out of the kitchen.

"You realise you're just widening the area you'll have to clean, right?" Though it would provide better places to dive and hide behind. Terry could easily imagine how a game like this would go horribly wrong with James. Or Andrew or Jack. And Avery and Demelza would probably murder him if he tried it.

"And I tried telling your roommate about the dangers of alcohol, but he said they could fix his liver. He did promise that I'd get to watch when they fixed his liver though. Assuming he doesn't just outright die of alcohol poisoning." After a quick sip, he took his glass and bowl into the other room. He set his glass down on the table and piled a spoonful of icing to eat. By the time he was ready to fire some at her he had blue all around his mouth. "Like my lipstick?" He winked playfully.

"I know but when you are standing so close the flinging of frosting and actually having it hit is less impressive." She nodded her head as she sipped at her wine before putting it down. Sure she would have more to clean but this game could get so much better with hiding behind things. "Hopefully I can put a stop to it before that." She nodded her head as she licked her spoon clean noticing her ammo was getting low she would have to play this game wisely as it appeared she had eaten most of it.

The next moment she looked up she was greeted by a very blue lipped Terry. "Oh I love it, I bet the girls go for it all the time." Laughing she filled her spoon and let it fly hoping it hit him and not the house but she knew she couldn't make a direct hit every time. She put her finger in the bowl and cleaned the side with her finger as she sucked it off and then grinned at Terry. "You look good, all yellow and with blue lipstick." She giggle a little as she spoke, the sugar getting to her.

"Oh yeah, all the ladies go for newest frosting look." Terry laughed, blushing. This game was really making it hot in the room. He smiled, readying his frosting for the full scale war. He readied his spoon, "FIRE!" He catapulted a wad of blue frosting in her direction before diving for the couch. Ouch. He'd have a bruise later.

As he lay on the floor, he bit his bottom lip to keep from laughing. Slowly, he peeked out from behind the couch, the new spoon of icing going towards his mouth. He was running low and forgot to grab the extra bowl of icing from the kitchen. Once he was almost done he'd just have to dive for the kitchen to reclaim more ammunition. "Suuuuuuuuuusan. You're going to looooooooooooooose."

"Of course they do, she nodded her head as she started to laugh. She heard him yell fire and went to hide behind the table and unfortunately her behind was exposed and she felt the frosting hit her skirt. "Oh man you got my skirt." She called as she ate some more of her frosting before getting it read. "No you are going down Terry." Susan said as she started to army crawl on her stomach so she could get to the other side of the couch to get Terry. She would have to get to her other frosting soon.

In position she peeked over the couch and lifted her spoon to get him with the frosting. She would have to get the other frosting soon otherwise she would give Terry the upper hand. She popped back down behind the couch before slowly peeking over it again. "I am going to win," she sort of sang out as she did a little wiggle dance.

Bugger, she had managed to get him straight in between the eyes. With the back of his arm he wiped the frosting off and readied a spoonful of the blue. "You're going to lose, Susie. Soooo badly." He chuckled, popping out from behind the couch enough to see her wiggling on the other side of the couch. He aimed his at her hair and let it fly before diving back on the other side of a table.

"What was that, the worm?" Terry laughed, eyeing the kitchen. He'd have to do it. He'd have to make a run for it. One... Two... Three... With a war cry he ran for the kitchen, grabbing the new bowl of frosting and, with a brief roll, hiding behind a small coffee table. "Ouch. Think I whacked my arm on the wall."

Susan would have apologized had she known she had got him in the eye but she was to busy hiding from the blue frosting. "No, you are going to lose and you will be covered in yellow and pink frosting to prove it." As she continued to do her little wiggle dance she felt the frosting hit her hair. "No, I didn't see that one coming." She called out as she took the last spoonful from her bowl. "No that was the wiggle dance," Susan said a little embarrassed but still enjoying herself of course.

Susan readied herself and watched as he made a run for the kitchen. She let the yellow frosting fly but it hit the wall. "No!" She called as she dropped the bowl and made a run for the kitchen to grab the frosting. She dropped the spoon in the bowl as she sat on the floor and peered out the kitchen. "Are you alright," she ask with genuine concern. "I could kiss it better," she teased and chuckled little.

"Careful or I'll hold you to that. Pretty soon I'll have you kissing all my boo-boos better." Terry smiled, holding his arm out. It was only a little red, but it may bruise in the morning. "Truthfully, if this is the only war wound I sustain then I think I'm lucky."

Smiling deviously, he scooped up some frosting with his fingers and flicked it at her. "I'll never give up. Nevaaaa!" He was definitely on a sugar high at the moment. He laughed and picked up his bowl, crawling right at her with a blue hand. He fully intended to smear it across her face.

"Well sometimes a kiss just makes all boo-boos better," she laughed knowing full well that she was on a sugar high. Susan felt like he could do anything and it would amuse her right now. "I am sure we will both sustain more war wounds." She grinned as she looked at him and gasped as he flick frosting at her. "Oh really," she scooped some frosting on her finger and was about to flick it when she decided to eat it.

"I don't want you to give up cause I won't and this is too much fun," she laughed as she scooped up more frosting and this time flicked it at him. Then she saw the blue hand crawling towards attached to Terry. "No..." she said as she was backing up and hit a wall. Where would she go? Susan scooped up some pink in her hand and was ready to fight back if she had too. "Think wisely about what you are about to do."

"Hmm... I think it's time for a suicide attack." Terry was chuckling as he crawled closer to Susan, his new bowl ready. He dipped his hand in and came out with a fistful of green frosting. "I've thought about it, Susan. And it's definitely worth it." He smeared the frosting in her face and then dumped the bowl on her head.

"Yep, definitely worth it." He sat back, crossing his legs as he looked at the mess they had caused. To keep himself busy he licked up some of the frosting on his arm. "I taste good."

Susan wasn't sure how to get away from this suicide attack, nope there was no way out she was trapped. "No it won't be," she said but there was no way to talk him out of it as she felt frosting smear over her face and then the frosting was dumped on her head. "I can't believe you just did that." Susan looked at him stunned but rather amused all at the same time.

"I think it is time for my revenge," she said as she crawled towards him. Susan didn't even worry about wiping the frosting off her she just smeared the frosting on his face and dumped the bowl on him and rubbed it in his hair. Susan laughed as she leaned back rather impressed with herself as she leaned on her hands. "I win because you are covered in pink." Susan laughed as she leaned forward and took some frosting off Terry and licked her finger clean. "You do taste good."

"Oh well. I'm basically dead anyways, so I suppose it could have been worse. At least I've lost by becoming a tasty treat." He laughed, running a hand through his hair. Big mistake. It just ended up acting like a sugary gel and his hair was now sticking up, a variety of colors in the normal blonde.

"Well bugger. Think I can work the look?" He primped and preened for her amusement then fell back on the floor, laughing. "Oh god. I think I have a tummy ache. How 'bout you?"

"Yup a tasty treat," she agreed as she watched him run his hands through his hair. "I am sorry you look ridiculous," she laughed as she tried to get rid of some of the frosting in her hair. She was looking back at him in amusement as he was primping and felt like she couldn't stop laughing as she lay down on the ground next to him. "I feel like I have eaten far to much sugar," she looked over at him and moved her hand to wipe some frosting from his face. "Granted I keep eating it," she licked her fingers and laughed looking up at the ceiling.

Sighing softly she moved her hair out of her face but it caused it to get into a new position thanks to the frosting. "I think that was much better than making a cake." Laughing she held her hand on her stomach it was always a funny feeling. "Laughing is so not helping my stomach."

"It's addicting. Oh sugary, sweet crack, how we love thee." He couldn't really see himself without a mirror, but knew if he looked anything like she did at the moment they both had good reason to laugh. Not to mention he couldn't stop laughing when she kept taking the frosting off of him and eating it. That had to be unsanitary. "Sheesh, why not just cut off the middle man and just start licking me clean?"

Not that he could talk. He rolled on his side and swiped some of the frosting off her face, licking his finger clean before smiling at her. "Thank merlin for magic in cases like these. And bleach. Lots of bleach for these clothes." He made another swipe at the frosting that was splotched on her neck.

"Don't tempt me I could end up licking you," she chuckled not really thinking about how that could be taken. Susan laughed a little as he rolled over and swiped some frosting from her face which of course started a new string of giggles. Susan turned her head to look at him glad that he had come over because this was much more fun than throwing her own pity party.

"Hey that tickles," she chuckled as she squirmed and looked back over at him. She took another swipe of frosting off him. "At this rate I will have you clean in no time." She leaned on her side using her hand to keep her head up and her elbow propped on the floor. She took another swipe this time from his neck and smirked. "See it tickles.

Terry rolled onto his stomach and crawled closer to her, his sugar high giving him an idea. He leaned in and licked a bit of frosting off her face. "See, cut off the middle man." He'd definitely have to try a frosting war with Lucy when he returned.

"I think a shower would be the best way to clean up." She lay on her back and looked up at him as he moved closer and licked frosting off her nose. Susan giggled a bit and nodded her head. "Small victory, but you won none-the-less." He played with her hair, trying to make a mohawk with the frosting used as a type of gel. The latest in hair fashion, he was sure. Though that brought more laughter when he was done playing with her hair.

"You should probably go shower then, before I'm tempted to eat all the frosting off of you. Then what would dear old Zachie think if he came home to see that?" He chuckled, leaning to lick a bit of frosting off the edge of her lips. It seemed a good idea at the time, really.

"I have been winning all day." As he played with her hair she looked at him oddly wondering what type of mess he was making, was he trying to make a mohawk or something? "I bet I look gorgeous." She nodded her head pretty sure she looked fantastic.

"I think Zach would be shocked and kind of amused." Susan wasn't actually sure how Zacharias would react to Terry licking her clean of frosting but she was sure it wouldn't be what Zach would be expecting. All thoughts were gone when Susan felt his tongue lick a bit of frosting from the edge of her lips. Susan stopped moving and just looked at him and without much thought kissed Terry lightly more near his check but she still managed to catch his lips. She was back with her head on the ground so quickly it was almost like she didn't kiss him at all. "Sorry about that." Susan was quiet as she looked at him knowing she should not have done that.

Then his mind went set into realising what was happening. Oh. That was... Oh. Terry looked down, blushing a little as he played with the frosting on his arm. "No, I'm sorry. My fault, really. I keep forgetting I can't do things like that." He mentally kicked himself, especially since he wanted to give her a little kiss. He probably would have too, if it weren't for him remembering one of his friends telling him off last time he kissed a girl without thinking.

"It is okay, I shouldn't have." She looked at him and smiled. Susan hated doing things like that she tried not to kiss friends because it just made things extra awkward. Susan started to pick some frosting from her clothing and looked back at Terry and blushed.

He'd be stuck in the bath all night trying to get the frosting out of his hair and off his skin. It'd be extra funny showing up to work tomorrow in a suit and with yellow and pink patches on his skin.

"Next time, how about we try not to make such a mess when cheering you up?" He slowly stood up, offering her a hand. "Want some help cleaning up before I head home?"

Susan looked around at the mess they had made and half laughed as she took it all in, it wouldn't be to bad. When Terry asked if she wanted some help she just shook her head and took his hand. "As long as you promise not make such a mess when we cheer me up then I think I can handle the clean up." She let go of his hand once she was on her feet and smiled at him. "Thank you for this. I guess you will want to get home to get cleaned up."

"Yeeeeah, pretty much." He smiled happily, feeling bad for making a mess of her place like this. "I promise not to make such a mess next time. Maybe I'll just play you some music or something. If you like that sort of thing." He was already putting his shoes on, frowning inwardly at how he was making a mess of perfectly good shoes. "G'night Susan. I hope you have a better day tomorrow." With a quick wave he was out the door and hurrying home. Frosting was starting to harden on him and.. it just felt icky.

"Music sounds good and less messy." She watched him put on his shoes hoping he didn't mind being covered in frosting. "Good night Terry." She waved good bye as he walked out the door and she closed it behind him. Susan turned around to look at the mess they made and went off to find her wand to get this all cleaned up.
