She was still wearing the robe with the blood stains, and the proof that she had been shot. But only a witch can kill a witch, and the wizard's guns were no match against magic. She was no worse for having been blasted point blank and thrown to the ground by the impact. She'd risen just as Glinda had promised she would, but...but where was she?
She looked around, her eyes wide with shock. She didn't recognise this place. It certainly wasn't the battle field on the outskirts of Oz. The land was barron, there wasn't even any grass, and she was certain she'd been in a grassy field.
It wasn't Glinda she called out for, but Dorothy, the interloper who had shown her nothing but kindness even when she'd found out who and what her beloved Sylvie really was. Dorothy who had nurtured her with no intent to use her magic. It was Dorothy, and Lucas (not Roan), that she longed for in this moment of fear and confusion.
