"Elizabeth Ortecho," he said, looking up into her eyes. "Will you be my wife?" He'd always known she was the one. She'd left town, and he'd drifted from one relationship to the next, never making any real commitment, because she was the one he wanted by his side forever.
He actually thought the time would never come, but she'd come back to town, and now they were together. Marriage was the next logical step, as far as Max was concerned. Of course there was a chance she'd say no, he knew there was a chance.
He just hoped she didn't say no. He desperately wanted her to say yes.
