What: A Conversation Where: The Gazebo in the center of town When: Christmas Eve, late Warnings: Fluff and Stuff Status: Closed
They'd spent the afternoon at the community center, and the evening with Liz's family. She'd told her dad about Rosa, and they'd left the teenager with him for the night so they could get reacquainted. Which meant Max and Liz had Christmas Eve night to themselves, which was just how Max wanted it for reasons he had yet to reveal to Liz.
He suggested a walk through town, saying he wanted to enjoy the brisk evening air before they headed home. He spun some tale about how it would be relaxing and refreshing after the busy day they'd had. Thankfully she agreed and he didn't have to try to convince her without revealing his true motivation.
He led her casually toward the gazebo where they'd shared a memorable moment more than a decade earlier. He sort of felt like it was their spot, and it was the prefect spot for what he wanted to do this evening. It would be a Christmas Eve they'd never forget, no matter how it played out.
Of course he wanted to play out a certain way, but ultimately it was up to Liz. He grinned as they approached the gazebo. "Want to sit for old time's sake?" he asked her, leaning in to bump his shoulder against hers.
