"So you're going to talk to him, huh?"
Adam sighed. Michael had been quiet so far, present but quiet, and of course now was the point when he chose to start speaking up. "Yes, I am," he said patiently. "He's the one I'm less pissed off at."
Not to be confused with not pissed off at all, because Adam was definitely still pissed off. At Sam and Dean, at himself, at the angels... at everyone in and everything about the situation. But at the same time... At the same time, there was no point in taking it out on anyone. He and Michael were in the same boat now; if anything else, Michael had it worse. He'd just had his world turned upside down, his trust and faith in everything shattered, and he'd given the others the spell that would help lock God up. It was a sobering thought, the idea -- no, the fact -- that it was now Michael who was lost and broken.
"Just remember, be careful," Michael cautioned. "You may have your family, but if what we just went through taught me anything, it's that sometimes family isn't what you think it is." He wasn't sure what to make of the Winchesters anymore, and he legitimately hoped, for Adam's sake, that Sam wasn't going to be a problem. But he also knew now that he would step in if he had to, would do whatever he needed to. His faith in his family had been destroyed, he wouldn't see what little Adam had end up the same way.
"Shut up and let me enjoy the fuckin' milkshake," Adam muttered. He really hadn't been lying when he'd told Sam that he'd been eating his face off. He'd had the metabolism of a teenage boy to begin with, but the metabolism of a teenage boy fueled by the fact that he was the vessel of an archangel who was actually still in there? It was absolutely insane. And while it wasn't technically a problem, and he didn't have to eat, he'd very quickly noticed that if Michael let him out then it didn't take long for him to end up starving.
