Okay, this was starting to get really weird. And not in the way Lucas was used to.
"Uh, not unless you count knowing a guy who's helping try to figure it all out," he said warily -- Fenway had mentioned that much to him. Wasn't telling him anything else, of course. He took secrets seriously, always had. Nobody would be able to pry anything else out of the man, but Lucas had been able to learn that much.
It was oddly reassuring.
"Look, ask Dr. Fenway if you don't believe me," he said, looking very much like he wanted to be anywhere other than where he was -- and he did, he just couldn't figure out a way to extricate himself from the situation that didn't involve bolting out the door.
