I'm halfway through A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin. I only recently discovered GRRM after a long period of slight bitterness about medieval fantasy being the first thing to pop into people's minds when they think of fantasy. (I was raised mainly on space opera and urban fantasy.) I have discovered that (and this must be shocking, really) I really like serious medieval fantasy as long as it's, you know, well-thought-out and well-written.
