Peter couldn’t help but grin a little when she said painter and then showed him her nails. They weren’t terrible, but he guessed he wasn’t an expert when it came to nails like that. “Yeah? Me too. I mean, red is a pretty cool color. I’m Peter, by the way. Just here to get a few things for, uh, a project, but you know, I didn’t really know if this was the best place to do it. So, um, do you always paint your nails? It’s cool. Nail polish isn’t really that hard to make, to be honest. A few simple chemicals and you’ve got a pretty good combination. It’s the colors that are tough to figure out.”
He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, peering around down the aisle past her. “So, um, do you come here a lot? I mean, to this store? I’m just trying to find some electronics so I wanted to make sure I was in a good place to do that. I’m still pretty new around here.” Being an outsider or not, that was a true statement anyone would say.
