The grass sank beneath her feet as the witch stepped out into her own backyard, hands held out in front of her, palms up and eyes closed in strict concentration with the rest of nature around her. Instantly, the wind picked up around her, blowing her chocolate brown locks from her face and she inhaled the cool night air into her lungs. The scent of the fresh cut grass, the flowers and moist dirt filled her nose and she couldn't help, but beam silently to herself. She loved these moments the best. The moments where she was in tune with nature itself and the very world around her.
The whispered words of a hundred dead witches filled her ears and she listened intently, focusing on what they said and asking back the simple question of 'why'? Why were they so against this plan? Why were they so upset? She knew many of them, including her Grams wasresponding to her own anger at Elena getting snacked on, but the rest were focused on Rei's plan. Even so, she explained it to them, all of them, and they reluctantly seemed to be on board-even Emily. Murmuring a soft thank-you, Bonnie attempted to pull back, but was stopped as the witches let her know. Stefan was leaving town.
Opening her eyes, the witch frowned at the darkness and looked up at the star-filled sky. Perhaps everything was meant to be. Perhaps everything was not meant to change anymore or be what they wished. Fate was cruel.
