As soon as they crossed the threshold into the basement, she spotted him. There he stood, at the far end of the corridor, waiting on them. It made her stomach churn to think of exactly what he was planning now that he had been able to sit and wait on them, expecting their arrival and able to ready any sort of trick he wanted to throw at them. It was too much to pass up though, and Alice couldn't bare the thought of hearing his offer and turning away.
After stopping just inside the doorway, Alice continued to approach Wesker at the far end of the room, at a much slower pace. Her eyes stayed focused on his, catching the change when they glowed red for a few seconds before returning back to normal behind his sunglasses. "Poetic?" She scoffed, taking a small moment to assess their surroundings, something she often did when in a tight situation. Though this time it seemed a bit different, as she had known what she could be walking into, and she wasn't as nearly as prepared as she would have liked, but she would make do with what was available. She wanted nothing more than to end this asshole, once and for all.
"The only reason you see it that way is because all of this is your fault," she said, her voice getting menacing. She held a grudge against Umbrella for many reasons, but the one that was above even her anger about being manipulated and experimented on, was the corporations complete lack of compassion for the rest of the human race.
Alice's eyes fell for a moment upon the computers that lined the walls behind Wesker, knowing that somewhere in one of those machines was her ticket to freedom from the corporation. At this point, she simply wanted to be off their grid, and get rid of their satellite tracking and control for good. It would make sense that Wesker would be guarding those computers with all the information they held. They simply had to find a way to get him out of the way.
Before anyone was able to speak another word, the ceiling came crashing down around them. Or, behind them, was more like it. The ground floor had apparently been rigged with explosives, but thankfully, they hadn't reached far enough over the basement, and only the exit and the stairs were blocked by the falling pieces of ceiling. Still, hearing the explosion, Alice grabbed Rain from behind her and pushed her in front of her, hoping to get the other woman farther from the explosion as the room filled with smoke and dust. Coughing, Alice immediately turned towards Wesker once again, sure that this was his doing.
