As the lights come on across the building, Wesker smiled in a triumphant fashion, filled with silent pride. There wasn't a single person in the twi-state area who wouldn't have fallen for this. If there were any more survivors out there than Jill, Angela, and that horrid Holly woman, they would be swarming the streets like roaches with the lights turned on. A very, very appropriate simile given the situation.
The electrical grid was now on, and it wasn't going off any time soon. This was only the Department of Energy, however, and beyond the city's electrical grid, it wasn't good for much else. However, a government building like this wasn't without it's own security. Now was the chance to check the surveillance system to plan his escape route, without drawing undue attention to himself...
Wesker clicked a few buttons on the unnecessarily large keyboard, and opened the surveillance systems. The lenses were dusty from a lack of general maintenance, but he could see zombies thrashing about in the building by the sudden burst of light. What really interested him, however, were two women. With guns... on the ground floor.
Wait. Wait. Was that... Alice? Alice Abernathy? Well... this was unexpected. And Wesker just can't resist the temptation to screw with her.
The phone lines were down, but thankfully, the building's PA system was not. Wesker reached for a nearby phone, hit the loudspeaker button, and spoke into the phone.
"Well, well, well," he said, condescendingly. "And here I thought I was rid of you for good, but then fate always had a... strange sense of humor."
Wesker then watched them on the camera system for their reaction.
