Alice followed closely behind Rain, holding a somewhat dim flashlight in one hand, a pistol in the other. Occasionally, she turned her head to look behind the pair, making sure that nothing was following them and that nothing would be able to sneak up without some sort of forewarning. She turned her head back around to follow the flare that Rain had tossed farther down the hallway, allowing them to check if anything was waiting in the dark ahead of them. Her eyes flickered to Rain's raised fist, and ceased her footsteps. Her gaze was once again drawn to the end of the hallway, where both women seemed to spot the carrier at once. Knowing that they weren't in immediate danger, Alice waited as Rain slammed the silencer onto her glock and sent a bullet through the head of the zombie.
They hadn't been running into too many of the undead, which Alice found a bit strange. It didn't matter what they came across though, she and Rain were determined to get to that computer lab. Alice was sure that they would be able to access the satellite grids that Umbrella had been using to track her, and as soon as she was able to do that, she would be able to make them completely useless, and take her off the grid entirely.
"If I'm right, the stairs should be a bit farther down the hallway," she murmured back to her companion, intending to continue on their path when suddenly it got very, very bright. Having been in the darkened building for a good while, Alice had to close her eyes for a minute so that they could adjust. Flicking off the flashlight, she shoved it back onto her belt, focusing her hands on the firearm she carried. How the hell had the lights turned on?
The lights of the elevator began to flash, signaling that the car was coming down. A string of curses fled through Alice's mind at that sight, and she wasn't sure who it could be or what the hell they were doing in this building. Obviously it was someone who was still alive; there was no way that anything undead would be able to turn the lights on and figure out how to operate an elevator. No, Rain was right. Something was very, very wrong.
Thankfully, the elevator seemed to stop on the floor above them, which bought them some time. They continued on their way towards the stairs, neither of the women bothering to attempt using the elevator, not after if was so evident that they weren't alone. "We just need to keep moving," Alice murmured, not sure if she had spoken aloud to make herself feel better or if it were for Rain's benefit. Whatever the reason, she still didn't like the idea that someone else was in the building. That was never a good thing.
