RP: Getting to the real work, where's the cuppa? / journal entry; #001 Date: November 15, 2001, late afternoon Characters: Adrian Pucey, Cecilia Proudfoot, Ginny Weasley (via message) Setting: Settlement 1, Med Center Content: G Status: Public: Open
Adrian Pucey had made his way to the Med Center on Settlement 1 a couple of times now, and he found that he loved the quiet of the place in the late afternoon and early evening. Spending his mornings out in the bush and his evenings in the usually empty lab had a nice sort of balance to it and as Adrian still hadn't decided his place in the new order, he liked the solitude. He had on occasion run into a couple of other herbologists and potions folks, but nothing beyond a passing glance or asking what each other was working on.
This afternoon seemed no different and he could be found by his lonesome bent over a particularly tricky piece of experiment he was working on, trying to figure out the medicinal properties of the Almost-Queen-Anne's-Lace he'd told Ginny Weasley about. It was edible, that much he'd learned on his own by simply chewing on a piece and waiting to see if anything awful happened to him - not that he would record that for anyone else to find out - when something in it seemed to spit out and get him in the eye he pushed his chopping board back and called it bad luck.
But it had suddenly reminded him of Ginny; the plant, not the spitting, and so he wiped his hands on an errant drop cloth and accio'd his datapad to write a note.
Ginny, I've been cooped up in my office and alone in the woods too long, would you care for a flight soon? Let me know when you're free, but to warn you, I'm very rusty, it's been a long time since I kicked Gryffindor tail on the Pitch. - Adrian
Putting the datapad away, Adrian cracked his neck and got back to work, surprised when he heard the door at the front of the lab open briefly and he stood, deciding his work could wait just a bit longer, and made his way around the corner to the entrance to see who had joined him at dusk.
