Who: Angelina Johnson, Lisa Turpin When: 14th June 2003, Lunch Shift Where: World's End Pub What: Angelina's training/first shift Rating: Should be worksafe Open/Closed: Open
Angelina had been so happy to discover that her favourite pub had an opening for waitstaff and that Lisa was willing to give her a quick trial based on her description of her experience. Everything had gone well, even pulling pints hadn't been a disaster (and considering she had far more experience with pouring wine and it was mostly for when the bar was short-staffed it hadn't been a problem).
Now it was her training and first shift. She'd pulled her hair back, put on work appropriate clothes and her best 'I have to stand up for hours and deal with potentially idiot customers but still look smart' shoes (very different from the 'backbreaking work in the sunshine for hours' variety) and had apparated to the door. She was still her perpetual ten minutes early, even given she'd agreed to start a half hour before the regular lunch shift set up began. She straightened her clothes and headed around the back and knocked on the rear door.
She wondered whether she was too early, sometimes her tendency to be early to everything put people off. In job terms it was generally helpful, but one of her ex boyfriends had found it really unnerving for reasons she wasn't quite sure of. She turned her back to the door and looked around, watching the play of light on the brickwork of the walls.
