madasadiggle
Early Monday morning in an effort to help spread general cheer, Dedalus secretly set a bunch of lambs free in Diagon Alley. They were charmed different colours or sparkly or both. There are at least a dozen of them.

They're not real lambs though, just transfigured from random things he's had around his house. They pretty much walk around and baa and that's it, but Dedalus figures that's all lambs really do anyway. A Finite Incantatum will send them back to whatever object they were in the first place. At least a couple of these things have his name on them / can be traced back to him, though this is something he did not really think about. He just wants people to be cheerful and happy, okay?

This is absolutely free to backfire on him somehow. Or people can just cheer up because lambs! Lambs are lovely!

THE SAGA OF THE LONGBOTTOMS
OR: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AURORS ARE FRAMED FOR MURDER
OR: SERIOUSLY GUYS LISTEN JUST TO MOLLY WEASLEY NEXT TIME OKAY

presented in bullet-list form, otherwise i will definitely forget something
  • July 23
    • Alice leaves their safe house.  She stops by her parents' home, bringing clothes and a few other personal items from the safe house to leave with her parents, to make the place seem more "lived-in" as their alibi for not being in the London house.
    • Alice and Frank turn themselves in to DMLE custody and are placed in a holding cell until people can figure out wtf they're going to do with them.

  • July 24
    • Retired Auror Humberto Blishwick (great-grandson of Misapinoa Black, take that, Bellatrix) is recalled from his cozy retirement home to lead the investigation.
    • Alice and Frank (truthfully) testify that they have not been in their London home since Alice was placed on bed rest July 5th.  They (untruthfully) add that they have been staying with Alice's parents, Alice full-time so that her parents can help care for her, Frank whenever he's  not working, which let's be honest is basically never.
    • Alice's alibi of being with her parents is verified with them, as well as with the paperwork on file from the Healers (thank you Edgar) yelling at the DMLE for bringing this poor woman in when she's going to have a baby any second, you morons.  (Ahem.)  Frank's alibi of being at work is verified with coworkers and schedule assignments.  Between these two alibis, there is almost no chance that they could have been responsible for the kidnappings.
    • Given the appearance of the Dark Mark and the dark magic used on the bodies found in the London home, both Frank's and Alice's wands are tested for usage of these spells. Their wands are (obviously) clear, which leads to suspicion of other/real Death Eater involvement, and/or confirms suspicion of there being another DE mole within the DMLE.

  • July 25
    • Any loose ends in the investigation are wrapped up by Auror Blishwick, who recommends an official Leave Of Absence for the Longbottoms.  This doesn't matter much for Alice, who was on Leave already and likely to remain so for some time, but will effect Frank.
    • The case of the kidnappings/fire/bodies/torture etc. is still open, but the Longbottoms are no longer the prime suspects.  If/when the Longbottoms return to work (time TBD?), they are not allowed to work the case.
    • There may still be lingering suspicions within the DMLE (or otherwise), depending on how trustworthy people find the Longbottoms to be and/or their thoughts on Auror Blishwick.
    • Frank and Alice are released from custody.  Hooray?

Posting this now because eventually I have to stop avoiding my critiques and go to bed. BUT.

Backstory: So about 6 years ago the Hitwizards had a serial killer (Gravedigger) who would ward victims into coffins, bury them, then owl the DMLE the coordinates. The Hitwizards then had only a limited amount of time to find and dig up the coffin and take of the weirdest ever wards from the coffin and rescue the victim. More often than not they didn't get there in time but towards the end they got really good at it (hence why Lee got good at taking down wards). One of the victims was able to give a description and the Hitwizards started to close in when the guy disappeared. Cue in the war getting bad, the case getting shelved. However Lee doesn't like loose ends so he occasionally looks around for some of the killers they didn't catch and puts them on a "list" for if he has to bring in a victim to kill or torture in Death Eater training. Lee found this guy last year but hasn't been able to get an opportunity to work on his wards.

OKAY PRESENT TIME: Last night Lee and Rab went out Death Eatering. Mostly because Lee's dad only lets him have Wednesday night's off if he's doing something for the Cause and Rab and Lee wanted to get high, so, they needed an excuse. ANYWAYS. They went after The Gravedigger, Lee gleefully stripped the wards down, and Rab had a good old time torturing and killing the dude. Lee then warded him into a coffin using what he could remember of the wards used on the guys house. Really bizarre shit, but nothing Dark. Like a ward if you trip it you burst out into God Save the Queen or whatever the Wizarding Anthem is. Maybe one that gives you a helium voice. And one that causes you to bounce. The coffin will be sent to the Ministry with a note "Department of Magical Law Enforcement c/o Hitwizard Department."

Also!! This was a HIGHLY PUBLICIZED CASE. The guys name was even in the Prophet when they were hunting for him. So no insider knowledge would technically be needed.

DETAILS:
Gerald Dugen. Halfblood. Ravenclaw '43.
No Dark Magic used.
Extensive torture premortem with a knife

Coffin will have a bright, cheery red bow. Warded to high heaven. Seriously just have fun. Anything you want the wards to do, go for it.

LEE SAYS YOU'RE WELCOME GUYS. WE FINALLY GOT THIS SON OF A BITCH. DRINK ONE FOR HIM.

HEY GUYS.

So, this is Sarah and I apped my fourth. Remus is, well, Remus. He's pretty familiar to all of us and fingers crossed he'll resemble canon. ANYWAY, info that's probably relevant: I'm going with that he's open to the Order about being a werewolf, so if there's any potential fun, awkward times to be had with that, just let me know~. He's on comms and research and offense because he feels like he doesn't have much else to do but fight the good fight all the time and do the risky stuff though he does like plans.

I want all your plots.

Hi everyone. This is Nadine if you've forgotten who plays poor, neglected Fabian. I've been gone because my grandma died and now I have to accompany her body to India to be cremated. Pro Tip: If your grandparents are old and you're going to be in charge of their final resting place, get the details of how to do that before they die. This has been a red-tape nightmare which is why I haven't been around. I'll be gone for two weeks and I'm not sure if I will have access to the internet while I'm there because I'm staying with relatives and these relatives don't speak English and my Hindi is far from fluent.

But I will be around while I'm trying to pack and I've decided to spam with my characters even if my comments will be sporadic. For the next two weeks:

Jade will be shopping for her trip to Venice and attempting to not fight with Rabastan even if he's out eating ice cream with blond hoochies.

Fabian wants to help out with the Diagon Alley stuff and run his store and see his siblings.

Alastor is drinking toxic amounts of Auror Coffee and attempting to exonerate the Longbottoms.

Alton is involved in a big case and working insane hours.

If you want to reference your character being with them doing any of those things please feel free to do so. By all means, if you are married to one, close friends with one, or a sibling of one, just NPC them until I get back and leave a note here or email me to let me know what they did or said!

I will miss you all and when I come back I can't wait to be active again. I have missed the game a lot.

Hi guys! I am so, so sorry I disappeared. My life got crazy hectic, and I just haven't had time. My last exam ends at 10 PM tonight (est or edt IDK which we're in rn), so I won't be responding until THEN. Buuut I am back, if you'll still have me. :) I have Dorcas Meadowes (muggleborn, lawyer, order) and Saraswati Patil (DMLE coroner, pureblood, Patil aunt).

At a very unreasonable hour according to Rabastan (aka 5 AM) outside of the Ministry, he and Bellatrix strung up the four muggleborns that Charlie, Evan, and Brody helped him to abduct Tuesday night. There was one from each house matching the gender of its particular founder. They had suffered from extensive physical and dark magical torture except for their faces so that they would be recognizable.

- Brian Carlisle - Slytherin '77 - Trainee Healer
- Camilla Morgan - Ravenclaw '68 - Secretary Magical Games and Sports
- Francine Garrott - Hufflepuff '72 - Baker
- Keith Fritten - Gryffindor - '63 - Muggle bookshop owner

The first employees into the Ministry would be able to see them until the DMLE cut them down. If anyone has any questions let me know!

OKAY SO!

Sometime this afternoon Caradoc, um, stunned Marlene and tossed her in the dumpster behind the pub in Diagon she was "taken" from the other night (because Marlene was like "if we're going to go for this, we're going for it.") and she stumbled into the pub there looking like hell and probably with a banana hanging off her head because the image amuses me. She would've asked for them to contact her brothers, but the bartender would've had her taken to St Mungo's right away because this whole thing felt like a lawsuit waiting to happen (and then St Mungo's would've contacted the DMLE/Frank to let them know they'd found her, and they would've contacted her family.)

Storywise, she was out drinking and ended up getting knocked out/taken when she was leaving. She has really deep rope burns from struggling on her wrists and ankles and was bound up "on a bed or a table or something", and would've been really bruised up and had evidence of cruciatus and dark magic damage (aka stuff that the Order isn't supposed to know/only Death Eaters would :X). She also never saw their faces, but overheard them talking yesterday like "she's really pissed off" "what do we do?" "I don't know, let's just dump her somewhere" which is why the "Death Eaters" were playing up the whole drunk-in-the-gutter story.

UM. Yes. I think that's it. If anyone has questions definitely let me know!
