She wasn't afraid. That had struck him from day one with Lois. But now, with Lois in his arms as they soared through the sky, it really hit home.
He'd always expected people to be afraid of what he was and what he could do. There were some who were, judging by the whispers he'd heard. And yet Lois... Lois wasn't.
He smiled but didn't speak as they flew through the air. He simply relished the feel of the wind on his face and focused on keeping his speed at a pace that would be comfortable for her.
Only after they'd done a lap around the city did he return to the Daily Planet rooftop. He held on tightly as he slowly touched back down to the roof. He looked at Lois for some confirmation of how she'd liked the flight.
"I suppose I should go. I look forward to seeing your byline tomorrow, Ms. Lane."
