The lack of fear took him by surprise. He offered and she simply put her life in his hands. He pulled her closer and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Now hold on," he said, though he had no intention of letting go. It would simply be more comfortable if she held on as well.
He moved to the edge of the rooftop and gave her a moment to put her arms where she felt most comfortable and then he lifted off and started to slowly rise into the air. It was nowhere near the speed that he might use if someone was in trouble, but this was just the right speed to enjoy the view as the buildings started to shrink into twinkling lights below their feet and the stars became clearer and brighter.
