Lois definitely was the type of person to use discretion in her articles and stories if the situation called for it. If she didn't think it would bring Superman good press then she wouldn't write it. She wanted the people of Metropolis to know how special he really was, and honestly she had yet to see a story of bad press about him that wasn't speculation.
