I really enjoyed the episode. I missed it on Sunday so I didn't get to see it until Tuesday night and I was worried because I saw some people seemed really disappointed by it.
I have not read the books mainly because it seems the two have really digressed and I'm thinking it makes more sense to treat them as two different things rather than comparing them.
I liked how Sookie being gone for a year moved things along, and set up most of the plotlines we'll have this season.
I wasn't a real fan of getting in-depth with the fairies, so I won't mind them not being a major storyline. I saw enough to know they've got fairy wars going on and that's about it.
I can see them heightening the Bill vs. Eric dynamic and with Bill now being Eric's superior I can see trouble brewing.
I love the Hoyt and Jessica story. It's not easy meshing the two worlds and I think Jessica can only be domesticated for so long before she breaks. But I also thought their house was haunted last season.
I also love the way the vampires are trying to get beyond the PR nightmare left by Russell. LMAO at Pam's attempt at being warm and welcoming to humans. I was glad to see she is pivotal to several storylines already this season.
Tara, Jason, Sam. These storylines are just WTF right now. I guess I'll have to wait and see, but the were panthers give me the creeps.
The witches are an interesting twist and Marnie could be as much fun as Russell eventually. I still like Jesus and Lafayette as a couple.
Where is Alcide???? Actually, where are the weres??
Arlene and her evil spawn...lol!
I'm liking 90% of the stories although I know it's still early.
