group thread. WHO: Dedalus and 75% of the Marauders (James, Peter, Remus) WHERE: Chez Dedalus i.e., his cottage on the island of St Mary's, Isles of Scilly WHEN: Monday morning WHAT: Tea with James! Who isn't dead!!
It was clear that life for Dedalus, always a rather excitable introvert, turned sharply inwards many years ago. The house in which he was raised, though quaint, looked to be the sort that required considerable input: there was a substantial stretch of land to be maintained, especially if it were to provide a significant proportion of what could be found on the breakfast table that morning. Honey from the beehives at the end of the garden; eggs from the chicken coop at the other side of the house. Dedalus had even made the bread, flour still coating his lightly freckled arms as he set a kettle to boil over the log-fed Aga, almost scalding himself in the process due to nerves that were working on overdrive.
All of this was a rather benign front for the fact that the house and grounds were thoroughly warded (and whether Dedalus' goblin friends had had any hand in assisting him with such magic was a secret he was not likely to divulge) and even those temporarily invited to enter -- such as Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew -- would feel the uncomfortable sear of spells gauging the veracity of their identities.
