Interesting developments that, I believe, are a good fit for a Celtic cross.
1 the querent: King of Pentacles - traditional, self-reliant, stable.
2 the obstacle: 2 of Pentacles. Careful consideration, juggling two competing responsibilities or duties.
3 the basis of the matter: 9 of Pentacles. Interesting choice, reflecting the results of hard work and having earned one's place. There have been obstacles and failures in the past.
4 the recent past: 10 of Pentacles. Material success, a satisfying home life. Normally what I like to see at the end of a spread, but true in this case. I have only a few complaints about my life recently, and they are systemic issues.
5 the highest potential: The Chariot. Ah, and we break free from pentacles for the first time. Two opposing forces harnessed to the chariot that must be carefully controlled if they are to be lined up in the right direction and the chariot is to travel at full speed.
6 the near future: The Star. A change for the better, a time for new beginnings, to begin new ventures, meet new people and work towards a goal.
7 fears and concerns: The Moon. Confusion. Darkness. Vagueness and a lack of clarity. Avoid deception, paranoia and rely on intuition.
8 the perspectives of others: 5 of Wands. Conflict. Compromise is advised.
9 hopes and wishes: 2 of Wands. A new project on the horizon. Negotiation with others. Patience, without too much meddling in the details.
10 the outcome: 3 of Wands: Ships coming into the harbour, their task completed. Satisfaction and fulfillment. And a warning: Life goes on, and this success does not guarantee that the next issue will also turn out well. Continue to work hard.
Pentacles, then the Major Arcana, then wands. How tidy. So, I begin from a position of security, forces outside my control are indicated in the near future, and things will move quickly from there. I am cautioned at every step to work carefully, and in some cases to step back entirely. The point of real conflict is in the eighth position, which fits well with the arrival of so many powerful players at once.
Bless Hogwarts. I do not want my daughter in this. She has the advantage that she could marry well to a lesser pureblood family but isn't pureblood herself, so neither side ought to be overly interested in her. And I certainly do not wish to be actively involved in any kind of fighting, if it comes to that.

[Bellatrix Lestrange]
Welcome back to Britain, Miss Black. I hope the winter has been kind to your horses.

There are days that call for a rather more in-depth spreads than the simple three-card that is my usual choice.
