Tonks had always imagined that it was her Mum's being disowned in general that had kept her from interacting with most of the Black family members as a child. As she had gotten older, she had also realized that it was partly her mother's will, as well, that she'd wanted to spare her daughter from ever having to experience what that family was like. She was so grateful to her mother for that. And in a sick way, it was probably fitting that the first time Tonks had ever 'met' her Aunt Bellatrix in person was when she had killed Sirius (not that her mother- this version of her at least- knew that yet). It had only cemented in Tonks' mind her feelings about her mother's family (excepting the few other black sheep). Watching Sirius 'converse' with his mother and brother in the journals today had only driven home that feeling even more. It was almost painful to watch a family that clashed so much, especially when she paired it with the memories of her own family life, her own childhood. Yes, she much preferred the family her mother and father had created instead.
Thinking of that preference, that very obvious difference, had created an urge in Tonks to be reminded of it again, and she hadn't hesitated to suggest it to her Mum and Dad. Of course they'd jumped right on the idea since they were, after all, her brilliant parents. Dressed in what she considered suitable for such an outing, Tonks snagged her favorite pink blanket and headed over to her parent's flat. Clutching the soft flannel close, she wiggled her toes inside the slippers she knew her Mum would love, and then raised her fist and knocked on the door. "Wotcher! It's your favorite future daughter!"
