Harry's desire to get this over with had absolutely nothing to do with the controversy it had caused. He knew all too well that the loudest, most accusatory voices did not represent the general opinion, although they could do serious harm if they got out of hand. Really, that was a personal issue, and he would continue to defend his integrity later, if necessary. First, he would have this matter settled.
He and Tonks escorted Dolohov from his holding cell to one of the interrogation rooms nearby, a simple warded room with a table in the middle. Once their suspect had taken his seat, Harry took his on the other side of the table.
It was Snape's advice - to be wary of creating unnecessary enemies where there were none yet - that made him begin politely, "We apologize for the inconvenience, Mr. Dolohov. We just have a few questions for you. We have a truth serum, but as you've been perfectly cooperative thus far, we thought you ought to have the chance to answer truthfully of your own free will."
He paused to let that be translated, then began. "Mr. Dolohov, are you familiar with a man by the name of Tom Riddle?"
