camps out in this post because i am very passionate about lipstick. i sort of fell into it in a big way last year, and have been amassing a collection. i'm a n18, and have warm undertones, so warm colours really work on it, i'm obsessed with corals (mac's so chaud is hands down my favourite). for lipsticks you really can't beat MAC for range, but i personally also love:
- ysl rouge volupte, the best lipsticks i have used so far, they are extremely pigmented and long lasting, and the packaging is so great (this is important to me). they're definitely on the pricey side, but imo worth the splurge. the range of colours is not as large, and a lot of their shades are more muted? - lime crime, i use their lipsticks and velvetines. the velvetines come in a tube like lip gloss, goes on liquid but dries matte, and lasts forever, so i'm a fan. i have two of the lipsticks, they're both pretty good. lime crime has awesome unusual colours, plus there is a sparkly unicorn on the tube??? - revlon colour burst lip butters are fantastic for colour with a lot of moisture. they're obvs not as pigmented as your average lipsicks, but i like them for more casual wear. - benefit lip tints. i haven't used lollitint, i think it's pretty new. my favourite's probably benetint, idk, i find cha cha tint and posietint to be a bit hard to work with, i think it's something to do with the consistency, even though cha cha tint works great with my skin tone.
i also find nyx lipsticks really good to play around with, work out what shades work for you, if just because they're so cheap. illamasqua does a fantastic range of colours, but i personally don't love the actual lipsticks, they are the mattest mattes i've tried, just a bit too dry.
