As James leaned near her to light the cigarette, she reached a hand back to lift her bun off the back of her neck. Inexplicably, a rush of heat had flooded her body, and she could feel strands of her hair gluing themselves to her skin. Bloody hot. So bloody hot.
"Not much," she said, taking a puff herself, sighing as the nicotine filled her lungs. "Summer's been a bit too long, in all truth. Petunia's bloody fiancee keeps hanging round the house and so I've been keeping to my room to stay away from him. Nice to get out..."
She leaned back against the wall, blowing smoke spirals. "How about you?"
