Lily chuckled, noticing how distracted James was. It thrilled her, deep down inside, to know that she had that kind of effect on him. Of course, James had made amorous advances on her many times in the past and had made no secret of his attraction to her, but this was a bit different. This wasn't James with a goal to impress his friends and win her like a prize.
As she stood there, watching the wind riffle his untidy hair, Lily suddenly wondered where, indeed, their relationship would go. Would this be something that would fizzle out within a few months, in which they would go their separate ways, finally knowing what it was like to date each other and be satisfied at that? Or would it go further? What if they were still together when school ended?
Lily shook her head. Wasn't she the one who had just said they wouldn't think about that right now?
"I've got an essay to write for Charms. Would you like to, I dunno, study with me or something?" Lily was clueless as to what sorts of things girls actually did with their boyfriends. She had never been in a relationship that had lasted more than a few days.
