"Right." A wind swept through the area, blowing Lily's hair back into James's face. She was too afraid to reach her hands back and put it in a ponytail. "Um. Not panicking. Check."
She glanced out over the pitch, noticing how much of the countryside she could see from this height. She had views like this from Gryffindor Tower, of course, but there was something different about being in the open air.
Lily took a deep breath and smelled fall. It was starting to set in now; the weather getting colder, the leaves changing colours. Fall was her favorite season.
"Look at the trees," she said suddenly. "I love that--when it's somewhere between summer and fall. See how the leaves are still a bit green?"
