James scrubbed at his eyes sleepily. He was no good until he had some food in him. Not even the noise of the Great Hall could wake him up fully. He reached over for a piece of toast, chewing on it while he loaded his plate with breakfast.
Beside him, Sirius was laughing about something, James hadn't been paying that much attention. His eyes were fixed on Lily Evans, just sitting there... Eating her breakfast... Looking incredibly beautiful and not nearly as worn out as James was feeling.
Why was he so worn out, anyway? Oh, right... He had a late chat with Remus just the other night, and didn't get to sleep as early as he'd have liked to. Oh well, it had proved to be worth it.
Once James had finished his toast, three eggs, some sausage links and a glass of Pumpkin juice, he spared a glance over at the Slytherin table and couldn't help but notice the Sirius look-a-like (though James would NEVER say that to either brothers' face)
James prayed to himself that Sirius didn't see Regulus....
