Reasons for recommending: This story combines some of my most favourite elements. Action, plot, romance and hurt/comfort with emphasis on the comfort part. Most hurt/comfort stories spend a lot of time and space on the hurt, and only the resolution part of the fic on the comfort. In "Good", most of the owies happen off-screen, but Obi-Wan's healing process takes up most of the fic. The characterisation is spot-on for me, I adore her Qui-Gon and her Obi-Wan is neither whiny nor weepy, but a strong man who just wants to get his life back.
The plot is failry classic, but grippingly done with unforseen twists and turns and a wonderful romance at the core of it. It's simply a good, long, well-spun, entertaining, heart-wrenching, and heartwarming, story. I read it through in one sitting and didn't want to put it down once.
There was talk of a sequel and Binky posted the first few chapters. Also, she wrote a cute little PWP companion piece to the story. I hope she finishes the sequel, I for one would love to read it.
Quote from story: "Obi-Wan," Qui-Gon choked out. "Please listen to me. I don't know what has frightened you, but you must trust me. No one here will harm you."
More lies. Did they never tire of this game? He closed his eyes and sagged against the cool metal of the comm tower, the wind whipping his braid around his face. He opened his eyes and looked down, feeling almost exhilarated by the prospect of plummeting through all that empty space, of finally being free.
He looked back at Qui-Gon, stiffening when he saw the dark-skinned man running toward them. He slid his feet closer to the edge.
Qui-Gon whirled around. "Stay back!" he roared, and the dark-skinned man pulled up short. He turned back to face Obi-Wan. "If you go, I will go with you," he said quietly.
