Reasons for recommending: This story originated from a list discussion on lines that would never be used in Qui/Obi fic. Emu took Mac and Trinity's challenge, and ran with it superbly, demonstrating her wicked sense of humor. I like this fic primarily for two reasons: (1) Emu uses the unusual lines so damned cleverly, making the story fascinating and amusing to read and (2) it's incredibly hot.
I'm recommending this story with its sequel "Exigency," posted next. These two fics should be read together, but I'm doing them separately so they'll both show in the community list.

Reasons for recommending: Just as Emu ran with Mac and Trinity's challenge to write Minuend, (see previous rec) 'chelle ran with Emu's ending, which is perfectly appropriate for the story but the kind guaranteed to make me pout. 'chelle makes Obi-Wan's angst and regret over his treatment of Qui-Gon in the first story heart-breaking, and hints deliciously that Qui-Gon's sternness arises from self-protectiveness. And oh yes, then it's incredibly hot. ;-)
