The noise was horrendous, it always was this time of night. The dogs themselves didn't make much of it, the occasional bark and growl, the yelps, and the sound of snapping teeth; the majority of the noise came from the crowd, the men and women gathered around the ring cheering, screaming and jeering. The blood splattered on the sand of the pit was already splattered in blood and flesh and whatever else, although Harry didn't bother to look closer. And while the pit wasn't as bad as some taverns late at night, it was fast approaching hellish, especially now the light outside was beginning to fade.
"Your turn soon enough, Hawker." He said, the dog pacing circles into the floor but stopping to accept the pat on it's scared head. The noise upset them, but at least it would all be over soon enough. Hawker's fight tonight was only to first bite, and that would hardly be more than five minutes. Then home, none the worse for it.
