"The left one," she repeated simply, pouting a little. "Are you sure?" Edith studied the two necklaces for a moment, she had much preferred the young man who had given her the one on the right. "Yes, I suppose you are right." Nodding a little she placed the cheaper of the two necklaces on the end table and moved to the mirror so she could fasten the other around her neck. In the end that was all that mattered, who was willing to spend more money on her.
"If she was sleeping she certainly isn't anymore," she smiled darkly. "Besides the sun is already out." Slowly she moved to stand behind his chair, peering over him as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "What are you reading?" she asked curiously as she gently massaged his shoulders.
